Default Possible Carsales scams.... yes there are lots of them.

Hey guys,
If you are on the hunt for a tidy AU just be mindful of these two ads as they both read very much the same.
Sounds very sus to me so much so i have reported it to Carsales.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

Or maybe im completely wrong.
But if im right i must say its frustrating that even if you report these ads to Carsales it can take weeks for them to take action.

Both say
"Excellent condition, service history, same owner/driver since 18 months old."

and

"..full service records, 2 full sets of original keys, registered until..."

Could be someone read a similar ad before they posted theirs and borrowed some of it but I understand why it may look like scammers. Hopefully, fingers crossed, it isn't.

It just looks like when they listed they just looked through other ads that were similar and copy and pasted what they wanted.

When I list stuff on Ebay or Carpoint etc, I go through similar ads and pick out the best bits from other ads.

I don't think they're scams lockieoc.
Althought the text is same or similar, the cars are different and the asking prices are too high for scams.

each seller has different mobile numbers .. Why don't you call them up one after the other and enquire..
or
If you are concerned drop a line to the customer support team at carsales and have them check them out.

Most scams do not have contact numbers listed. Only emails. Unsure why you think its a scam. The price seems fair and the adds look different.

Bingo...I've done the same thing for years with Ebay. Not to mention they also give you the option to "auto-fill" from a similar advert on Ebay now I have noticed, you just add your particular details or change whatever might differ slightly.

It's not like AU Fortes are a rare car...you're bound to find a heap of them for sale on any car sales website.

Ok fellas my bad,
Spoke to one of the sellers this morning and he says yes he did copy the other ad and also the sellers description of the car its not what i would class as being "excellent condition" (the joys of buying a used car).
And sorry for my over paranoia ill go back to reading conspiracy theories and government cover ups.

Also mods feel free to remove or lock the thread so it is not to mislead people.

It is an Aprilia, be VERY wary. I used to own an Aprilia and luckily it only cost me a small fortune in parts but that might be because it spent a lot of time hiding in the shed for the aforementioned parts to arrive which led to low kilometres of course.......
