Thanks Jim and rastus that's interesting to hear. better turn in in the dry. I don't push it in the wet even with the au so its not a huge deal. the dry handling ability is key for me.

Having driven a BA Falcon Mk2 XR6 Turbo from Cbr>Syd>Cbr, I found the XR6 is quicker in a straight line, but I reckon the Mondeo handles the bendy bits better. Suspension feels more compliant and no over-powered rear end to skip sideways - more reassuring.
But saying that, my two old rear-wheel drive classics are a hoot !! But totally outclassed compared to anything modern. Comes back to expectations and how you drive. |

And...I can punt my Mondeo along nicely without cringing when thinking of fuel consumption.
(smaller) Forced-induction motors are the future... |

Ford needs to keep abreast of technology as far as diesels are concerned.I drove a MB C250 CDI at the weekend 150Kw @500Nm,2.1L 5.1L/100km the frigin car had more torque than a V8 very impressed!

Can be retrofitted into MC Zetec and MC LX models as well - MC bumper has provsion for the DRLs, MA/B model does not.

plus I find there is more skill involved with hills driving.
Yep, Getting things flowing smoothly thru different conditons is challenging. Just try driving something underpowered ...quickly..... like go-karts where smooth is King.....and where all/most F1 drivers start their careers. |
