He's probably there at the behest of the owner who I dare say has been complaining about vehicle noise. Next step will be a speed limit reduction proposal or speed humps on that street.

Also, you havent experienced tunnel noise until you've been through a tunnel on a motorbike with around 5000 other motorbikes. My ears still ring even today...

that almost looks like stafford rd near the new tunnel. if that's the case it is a fairly major road and i doubt there will be any speed humps there. it has been 40 for about the last 18 months while the road works were on and has just gone back up to 60 since the tunnel was opened. if they reduce the limit blame op

It's a main road though. Main roads come with noise. If you live there, live with it or move away. I don't understand why people seem to think they're entitled to complain about noise next to such a major road.

Speed humps suck for noise.
Every single speed hump results in a heavy accelleration to gain lost time due to said speed hump.

The last place I rented had a speed hump in front of next door, it sucked!

Wouldn't be too bad if every now and then someone with a nice sounding 8 or T6 drove past. Would make listening to those fart cannon 4's and missing exhaust 6's worthwhile.

yeah i saw these guys at windsor/herston the other day at the entrance of the icb/lemon7. there were 3 of them i think.

also lol at anyone who complains about noise on stafford rd - the road was a main road before even the oldest person in brisbane could have bought a house on it.

I know they trialled a California (of course...) system in, I think, Victoria over ten years ago. It not only tested the dB of each car passing, but more importantly it was a set of laser beams across the road that measured the air before and after a vehicle for particulates and other gases somehow...if your car was over a set limit, it took a photo (like a speed camera) and you got a nice request to turn up at the local emissions testing station to have your car checked out...

The main reason people complain, is that they buy the property at a cheap price because of the noise. Once they get rid of the noise the value of the property goes up.

This is what happened with Calder Park and Sandown raceway.

Has the road had added lanes recently?

If the road has been made with extra lanes or added traffice due to diversons etc... it could end up in court in a civil matter. Most councils allow up to 70dba for machinery noise.

The survey could be there for legal reasons, to see if they have to "upgrade" peoples homes... like they did with all those sydney siders who complained about the noise from sydney airport. All their homes got double glazed windows and insulation installed...

Which is also why those wanting to close Essendon Airport have been complaining for the last 30 years or more, I've seen photos of the airport back in the 1930's, just open paddocks around it and nothing for miles.

You could also "accidently" run over that tripod while backing out. Claim you never seen it and it should not be in the middle of my driveway.
