Petrol in Dubai is dirt cheap, that is the least of their worries.
Done a few dune bashing trips in Dubai, their weapon of choice 99% of the time is a fully decked out landcruiser with a cage that looks almost factory fitted. May look into getting into one of these next time I'm there. Would be awesome. Edit, can anyone shed light on the 100% incline indicated?

Parking is no issue. Park it where ever you damn well want.
I read another article where the Australian army might be getting them but with a V6 diesel. Hope they are more reliable than when the G wagon did a reliability test in the Aussie outback about 12 months ago and had to get parts dropped from a plane because they kept breaking down. |

The purpose of 6x6 is for axle weight carrying capacity and not extreme off road. Also if you knew what army vehicles go through you'd understand just how tough the G-wagon is and also the land rovers its replacing.

Can't wait to see one of these on Top Gear
Top Gear US had the 'regular' G63 on a couple of weeks back, ran it through a military training ground while the US Rangers tracked and chased it down. Was epic. This would be the first thing I'd buy after winning lotto. |

When the ADF ordered their fleet of G Wagons to replace the 110's they needed a 6x6 variant. Plenty of defence forces worldwide use the G Wagon but none have ever requested a 6x6 - So Merc engineered one for them. Probably the same driveline as this AMG.
