Hello Everyone,
This is probably not the correct section I should put this post but I suspect that many of you will have experience with this. I have to modify my petrol tank but can't find anyone that will touch it for obvious reasons. I was hesitant to go to a fuel cell but it seems to be my only practical option. The car will be used for occassional street use and the occassional run on the strip. The cell will be in a TC Cortina. Does any one know what are the legalities for street use, do I get it from Rocket, do I go for any particular size, is there anything else that I need, the cost etc. Any advice will be appreciated. Cheers |

There are people around who will modify your fuel tank. A fuel cell mounted in the boot and properly mounted, vented to the outside and sealed off from the cabin should be a legal install. Get a good quality unit from any speed shop. Size is totally dependent on available space and you intended use. Most are 20 Gallon.

I'm not familiar with Cortina tanks, but if there similar to 70's falcons, you can pull the sender/pickup unit out of the tank and have it modified by any radiator repairer. I had the old 5/16's pickup modded to 1/2 inch, cost $30.
Much cheaper than a cell or tank mod.
