Hey guys,
I have just had a Dodge Ram 2500 imported but because we are going to be selling it, we are using our trade plate whenever we need to take it out. Since it won't be registered until a buyer takes ownership, I am finding it hard to have it insured for a short while. It seems most conventional insurance companies need the vehicle to be registered or they won't insure it. Does anyone know where I can have it insured unregistered ? Kind regards, Chris |

Called Shannon's and they won't do it because we are a LMCT but I got a few good leads from that anyway! Will keep ringing around, thank you for the suggestion.

You could also try "rural" focused insurers? Presumably there's a lot of unregistered vehicles on farms, not to mention some very expensive equipment.
Elders & Wesfarmers are the two that spring to mind. Otherwise try an insurance broker, they're sure to know.

I always thought test drives were commonly excluded from policies, so it may be worth explaining your situation a little differently so to speak, when enquiring.
But yep, as above, broker |
