I'm assuming you're from the US? Diesel is the only way many people can afford to run huge 4WD barges because we pay something like $6.50US a gallon for petrol, if I have my rough sums correct!

The new Nissan Pathfinder is petrol only and is selling well. At least 50% of Grand Cherokees sold are petrol, apparently. The extra cost of buying a diesel, usually at least $3k, are almost never recovered by anyone doing average kms.
