We should start a Ford Forums magazine.

You heard it here first.

Also; I want to write for it, it's my right as the ideas man to be featured as an honorary writer for the new-found Ford Forums magazine.

As people have said already, it was only BA+ turbos and XYs. No love for any E series.

Scud, I do like that idea!

Same applies to the S.S.A.A., 80+ advertising with a few reruns of previous stories. I recently shredded all my S.S.A.A. magazines, too much info on the net to be keeping a pile of paper going mouldy.
Forums have taken the market away just like online news has stopped newspaper sales in their tracks.
I haven't bought a magazine for 8 years and the only newspapers I read are some given to me that aren't available free online.

Australian Muscle Car Magazine is going down hill rapidly too. I only buy it now to keep the collection going when really I should cut my losses. Personally I think its now light on fact and heavy on myth, rumour and personal opinion. Too many spin articles like how Holden had the Monaro on the drawing board when Ford released the XR GT which now apparently means the Monaro was first.... It's contributors and researchers are mostly former Holden employees and researchers, including journo Paul 'lionheart' Gover.

I reckon there has only been 4 or 5 AU's in it and only one on the front cover, and why does every one make there xy's into GT lookalikes, what's wrong with a nice falcon or fairmont??
I think they can look better!!

Most mags these days are not even good as bum fodder.
Street Fords never interested me and from the few issues I have seen over the years I know I haven't missed much.I did buy the issues with the Phase 4 in them a few years ago and found those articles to be quite good even though the author/editor didn't miss a chance to talk himself up.
Australian Muscle Car has clearly run out of material.Last year the cover story of one issue was how the Bathurst track got approved by the local council ffs. That was the last time I looked at that magazine.
As a previous poster mentioned Street Machine is now all about burnout cars and competitions so I have not renewed my subscription to it.
Even Unique Cars is struggling. The last 3 or 4 issues have taken me a matter of hours to read the articles.I used to get a few weeks reading from them but not any more.
The best magazine I have seen in the past few years was called Australian Mustang and Ford Magazine but it seems to have now disappeared. The new Survivor Car Australia will also get my dollars if it continues to be as good as the first 2 issues and doesn't disappear.

I was actually thinking thins too only 5 years ago though. I thought how long before they run out of material? AMC I think peaked to early with Moffats mustang in issue 8 IIRC, and the likes brining in the fans but since then people are just collecting for the sake of collecting.

In some ways Ford Fans can complain too much.

Try being a Mopar Enthusiast. You can never find a mag that is around more than maybe two years if your lucky, before the bomb out and 3 years later another starts with the same result.

AMC is definitely on a downhill run, I've decided I'll keep buying it until 2016 , once all the manufacturers are gone then that's it, it's already a light read as it is. . . .

pretty soon youre stuffing bits of plane food in your ears and trying to sleep

instead of hurting your eyes reading it

Lucky it is cheap with the subscription deals . If I paid full price at a newsagent I'd be cheesed off . A bit of reading to pass some time is about it usua;;y, flick through and look at the pics .

I bet the editor has been reading this thread with the saddest expression on his face. I would feel bad for him but I just had a read of the February edition and well, now I don't.

I too raised the same concerns as a subscriber but heard nothing back.I would love to see more nat asp 6 bangers in there myself.I mean we have a NAT ASP xflow powered Corty that runs 11.1 @ 120MPH in a street car that will never see the pages of that mag cos it's not a 8 or boosted? It's a very fast street car and while it may not appeal to everyone this car will run 10's NAT ASP with time and tuning the way it is going and honestly how many NAT ASP v8's or boosted 6's are running as fast? There's guys out there fitting NAT FG engines to em as well and it is very refreshing to see.Not everything needs to be a V8 or boosted 6 powered...nat asp 6cyl can be cool too.

Really It comes down to who buys get what they want and if they want Xw-Xy and boosted late models there set.I understand it's a hard market to keep everyone happy but as you are choosing from a small pool but a bit of mixture in the content would do the world of good.

My 2 cents anyway...

I know of one TF Cortina 11.58 @ 114mph N/A EFI 250 Xflow!

It is currently getting a Barra fitted with ITB's....

My N/A6 B-series went low 13's full weight and you can eat your breakfast off my underside, no one has ever put the detailing effort into an everyday falcon like i have?

And it even made over 302rwkw with NOS but they were not interested...

Now no magazine can take pic's of it, my XR6 is secret squirrel from here on in i will post on this forum and that's it

Yeah that is very cool. Variety in a magazine is what makes it great, I like seeing different and unusual stuff, rather than the same thing over and over.
