Default Die-Cast (or other) Model Collectors

Who else on here collects die-cast models of whatever you're into?

I haven't got any cars, but I just received my first model Crane in the post.

It may sound a bit silly, but people collect sporting jerseys/memorabilia etc... so I see collecting Cranes I've operated as a similar hobby.

I decided that as I operate different cranes I'm going to collect a model version of them, as I'm the only one in my family in construction, and it would be cool to show them what kind of stuff I do for a job as we can't take photos on site either.

Here's a couple pics, excuse the messy background:

Very accurate replica, counterweights removable, boom fully extendable, can reeve the block, outriggers fully usable, steering works, fly jib also comes with it and is usable.

I'm looking to collect a 20T Franna, unfortunately they don't make a 25T Franna replica. Would be cool to find an old Wobbly too!

Post up your replica collections of whatever cars/trucks/bikes etc...

I collect 1:400 scale die cast airliners. I have a lot more than what's pictured here, so much so that I'm running out of space to put them.

I also collect 1:76 scale die cast models of double decker KMB buses that roamed the streets of Hong Kong in the 1980s:

... and last, but not least, 1:18 scale model F1 cars (every Williams from the FW19 to the FW27). Here's the championship winning Williams Renault FW19, which carried Williams to a then-record 9th constructors championship and Jacques Villeneuve became the first Canadian to win the F1 driver's championship:

Cool thread, love the model of the Grove crane Stazza.
NX74205, a varied collection you have there too.
I collect model cars, emphasis on Fords, but do have a number of Corvettes, and the two Easy Rider choppers. I will see if I can rouse up some pics at some stage.

Thats an awesome collection. What made you decide to collect them? I worked at the International airport about 18 months ago, doing some construction, you would have loved it. I saw some really cool planes. Saw Air Force One up close and got photos of it, as Hilary Clinton came to Perth. Also got a photo of the globemaster plane that flew with her.

Thanks.

I was bitten by the aviation bug growing up in Hong Kong in the 1980s when the old Kai Tak airport was still operational. Every day, I saw DC10s, 747-200s, 747-300s and L-1011s flying just a few feet above rooftops coming into land on RWY 13. The noise was unbelievable!

I've been an aviation enthusiast for many years. If my legal career doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind being a gate agent at an airport.

That crane is very cool!
I like the Dakar Rally Trucks, have about 9 of them. One is a Mammoet sponsored one. Their website had some serious model cranes on it at the time!

where to start with this one!

I have a packing box of original Matchbox pin wheel and original Superfast wheels. Limited edition specials of less than 100 world wide, Several preproduction MB38 vans, plus about another 50 to 100 vans from around the world and 700 joe average cars I will give to my grand daughters soon.

I have most of the Biante 1:64 cars except the current racing Ford / Commodore ( I stopped at the AU /VR). I chose 1:64 because I use them to jog my memory that's all.

Lastly, 500+ Hasbro Micro Machines both loose and MIB

Cheers Vincenzo

gets mundane after awhile like any job i guess! but watching the a380's take off on full throttle from 50m away is still exciting!!!

My lot is in the other thread that Dave351cid linked - so I won;t post the pics again.

The 'pile' has continued to grow with another 25 cars added.

Mainly Classic Collectable/Biante 1:18 Fords, both race and road.
Sold a few XA/B coupes a long time back (when money was tight) and I'm trying to track them down to add them back.

Still no display case as yet - I haven't found one I like enough (or big enough).

I used to have a cabinet full of 1:400 planes, then I thinned them out for 1:200 scale and then lost my job and sold the lot. Now I just have a small 3 shelf collection of 1:200 aircraft and heaps of simpsons stuff.

Nice models guys, im not a collector, to much of a peasant to afford it, i do have a 1/18 black XYGT though, the detail on these models blows me away, on mine all doors/bonnet/boot open and shut, detailed mechanicals, working steering wheels connected to and turns the steering wheel god dammit , bloody awesome !
