Default rust behind boot hinge

inside the opening where the boot hinge there is a vertical panel which goes up towards the top of the quarter panel has anyone had that panel rust out and how it was fixed as mine is rusting out on the left hand side.can u buy that panel thanks all

Spray it with some rust converter until you find a more permanent solution.

Phosphoric acid.

I have heard of people welding up that panel, repairing and using a BA stud and nut to screw into the panel for the struts.
