Default Engine Conversion (Barra into Project Car)

Hey guys, looking at buying a project car very soon, really wanting a Barra probably a Barra 195 as i can get one for cheap of a mate, how would i go with ECU / Wiring? putting engine in is easy part but once i put it in it will have custom exhaust etc. what will happen to the ECU will it start? will it run on limp mode? ive only ever engine converted old v8's that dont have ECU nor a big wiring loom. hoping i can put it in a start the thing but i highly doubt it.

Cheers

Now that's a project I could really get into...after all, every man and his dog does the easy thing and just chucks a V8 in them. Nice to see something different for a change.

I've mentioned it a few times and struggle to understand why a 6T is not being slotted into loads of XYs or any other x series falcon.

If kits where available I'd do one tomorrow...unfortunately my pockets are not deep enough to allow me to do the first...

A Barra XR6T into a XM or XP coupe has been high on my list for a while but finding a decent coupe at reasonable $$$ is almost a dream now

They dont fit in our earlybirds easily, on paper it sounds good... grab yourself a tape measure and you'll soon find out!
The engine will physically fit in the bay but will put the weight way too far forward, shocky towers and bracing will need to disappear... bonnet will have clearance issues.
To make it fit the motor will need to be set back into the firewall a good 100mm and still lose the towers and bracing, a IFS to get rid of the drag link... hello IVC rego!

Not saying it cant be done it can, but getting it passed for street use will be a PITA

Its a pretty big engine Physically, just look at the space taken up in that Mustang or even the XE falcon.
I guess it would depend on where it ends up

About 850ish cant remember exactly was long time ago, the rear of the motor is fine for height(minus the earlybird strut tower braces)its the front... Ford definitely shoe horned these puppys under the FG bonnet!
