yes you can buy stuff from over seas often cheaper, there is always some risk though in doing that,
as you don't always get what you ask for, and getting warranty or replacement on parts can be an inconvenience if it goes wrong .
if your unlucky enough to break down or need parts in a hurry , more often than not you won`t want to wait so you will end up paying full price..

Most of the reputable spare parts suppliers who cater to the international market are easy to deal with and offer returns, warranties and fast delivery.

Sure it may be a bit slower but in most cases the part arrives within a week and I've dealt with the locals where parts have been out of stock and the wait has been ridiculous.

You can also go to independent repairers and have them do the work and they’ll already have their own sources for genuine and aftermarket parts and as Tranquilized has mentioned, if you can’t afford or don’t wish to spend the cash then don’t play.

And as time goes on ask anyone who's restored a classic of any make if it was cheap and easy to source parts and they'll all laugh or cry.
