Default Signing up at Ex-Servicemen’s club

We went to join at our local a while back and they wanted to know what I do for a crust. Why would they want to know what I do for a living when signing up as a member........we just wanted a meal. Cheers

So they can work out marketing strategy for their club base + probably sell their data base to marketeers who will then annoy you with products relevant to your industry.

Who cares?
If they ask and you don't have a problem providing the information, then there is no issue.
If you do have a problem, then move on. Again, no issue.

I deliberately put nothing on the form when I gave it back to him. He then goes through the form and asks what do you do. Just glared at him and said ‘unemployed mate’. Felt like sayin WTF has it got to do with you lot what I do.
He’s still glaring and asks again ‘unemployed’ ..... ‘YEAH MATE UNEMPLOYED’.

Just curious as to if there were was a specific reason. LTDHO - don’t care mate ..... this was about 8 yrs ago when we moved into our area. Never been back actually. Was just somethin I was watchin on tv that sparked the question
