Yep. XK-XP had a bolt-in tubular cross-member (if they had one at all...some didn't).

Anyone know why they changed away from the Z9 filter from BF onwards?
What about the engine block? Also did the floor pan ever change? I remember reading that every Falcon had the steering wheel issue where it was slightly off centre compared to driving position?

Engine block changed many times. From pushrod to SOHC to DOHC required a lot of changes to it. |

Not the same part all the years of Falcon at least, went from a nylon/plastic washer to metal one in the early 90's then changed again in AU to have the rubber as part of the plug itself till FGX.

I guess there is still a market for parts made new given there is 56 years of Australia's greatest marque . Nothing else even comes close in longevity .
I also suppose that as many Falcons will still be on the road for a fair period yet , that an aftermarket parts market will remain because out sourced parts were required for the manufacture chain even when Falcon was still being built from the factory , stating the bloomin' obvious . Nothing directly to do with the thread topic but glad that it is an interesting topic to check out and see what comes out of it .. As for Ford in general it's pretty great that companies in the U.S. at least still manufacture new components for the Model T and Model A and so on . Snyders is one of them . https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/ Does anybody do that here for earlier Falcons especially with body panels or will we have cheap knock offs from Asia or somewhere ? Also I am sure that the timing case oil seal was the same part.

Bought a new heater tap from Auto8 this morning and they tell me the part covers quite a few models over the years.

Thanks roKWiz and Olbucko , surprising (but good) to see there are parts for the old birds in Oz and Kenworth has stuff too.. that's great ..you can go only so far with wreckers and knock off parts..
OLbucko by the way , you get my vote for one of the coolest avatar pics of them all...It's a ripper.. Last edited by roddy1960; 09-01-2020 at 06:08 PM. |

Hi. Does the stop/tail lamp globe count as a ford part. It could be the same from the introduction of 12 volt electrics in fords (late 40's), predating the falcon and running through to at least the end of the BF and maybe the FG ute. Cheers MD
