This info was a real surprise.
Ford provides Rangers and Everests kitted out with protective armour etc etc for Army, Police or security use. The details on the Armoured Everest are cool as its for people carrying protection with armour plate etc to stop even high powered rifle fire !!! "If you’d rather play GI Joe, you can do that too. How’s an armoured assault vehicle with a universal gun rack, general purpose machine gun mount, gunports with armoured glass, and most considerate of all, air con for the rear gunner compartment , sound? One of the zompie uprising Everests would be cool. These are all factory appointed by Ford even down to the Camo. https://www.caradvice.com.au/907573/...edium=Referral |

There would be a placer in both South America and South Africa for this.
The question is what the weight of the armoring would do the load / passenger capacity, axle rating together with impact on off road capability. I get the impression its not armored heavily enough to be anything more than for private use. |

Bit of a digression, carjacking trends in ZA.
https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/li...es-and-sedans/ Also there, certain security firms apparently have more leeway in terms of how they can drive and respond. Speeding, disobeying road signage, detaining suspected criminals at gunpoint and possibly even returning fire. Makes for some gripping video footage. |
