Just had to mention this , makes me laugh . For years as long as i can remember back when i was a kid, the oldman was a FORD man through and through. My fist car the XE was originally his and i bought it off him and did it up. At that time he had just bought a EB fairmont ( new back then ) and had nothing but problems with it. After i did up the XE he loved it and even offered to buy it back off me (and throw in the EB)..lol - i never did though - i loved it too much back then too ( shat all over the EB ). Anyway - time went on , the oldman sold the EB and never bought another FORD since because of all the problems he had with that 1 EB, he's been driving crap like rav4's etc etc the last few years. Well i gave him a drive of my AUII XR6 about a week ago, since then he hasn't shut up - he loved it ! . Now he's on about selling his rubbish and going back to a FORD , deciding between the AU and the BA series , he hasn't driven a BA yet - so time will tell if he decides on an AU or BA !. Being old farts , my mum was allready winging like "very nice car - but too low for me to get in ands out of !" , oldman was like "too bad !" . Good to see the old bugger getting a bit of spirit back in him ..lol , he's nearlly 60 now and only just at last looking at a decent car again ..lol . gl to him .

Its funny isnt it. My old man was a BIG holden man having owned an slr 5000 Torana, HZ and WB utes in his time. His mates all had Monaros and XU1s. When we bought my first car I wanted an old XC that looked pretty battered, but he insisted I went the lion and so we got a VC Commodore with the Brock kit on it (still got the bloody thing, but hopefully not much longer!). Ive always like FORDS, and I took him for a test drive of an Series 1 AU XR6 the other day and he loved it! He liked it so much he even offered to lend me some cash to buy one! He cant stop talking about them now. My financial situation stopped me buying the machine then but it wont be long now...

Dad was always a Ford man owning an XD ex cop car and NC Fairlane and a few others, but with fuel prices went out and bought a motor bike. He is 140kg odd and big.
Something that surprised me was that my mum who is not a car person owned an XU1 earlier in her life.

Its funny... our family has always been a ford family... 6 fords in the driveway at one stage!, and NEVER have i thought of having any other make of car. Were all easily influenced by our familys and friends, but either way, im genuinely a huge fan of the ford and LOVE my XR8... always proud driving it around. Dads always had a ford from as far back as i can remember, so it was engrained into me from a young age. I guess if he was a holden man, id potentially own a VX or something... damn... thank god that didn't happen! ;)
On a seperate note its funny how dad also never watched footy, rugby or soccer, so neither do i... he always watched Motorsport, so i do too! Like father like son? I think so...

I'll admit it "I used to be a Holden man" Owned a worked 327 HK Monaro when I was about 20. In 1997 was looking at buying a Crumodore ,had it picked out and all.But then in a moment of cosmic clarity decided to test drive an EF Falcon. The rest is history and I still own the EF with over 200,000 k's on it and its never missed a beat.

It was more my grandfather that got me more into Ford's than my father. But it was my mother that got me into hot cars as she use to drove then all in one of her jobs.
