Default New body kit is on it's way....

Well after much thought i have decided to scrap the whole current body kit in favour of another complete premade kit. Main reasons involve the time it'd take me to get the WRX front bar to flow exactly how i want, and being plastic, it's not something that i could easily work with at home. First decision was to find a new front bar only, but after i had a quick browse trough what's available ready made, i grew fond of the complete MMM kit available from AWC, and promptly placed my order in for one.

Pics can be found here
http://www.awcinfo.com/secureshop/ca...php?cat_id=306

The kit should arrive mid next week, and since it's a simple stick on procedure, should drastically cut down the build time for my car as their is no plastic or fibreglass fabrication needed. I've also decided not to do anything further on my bonnet and will be left as a simple bonnet bulge rather then the "idea" that was origionally going to be performed.

As you may have guessed, i'm started to get a little impatient, so i'm taking steps towards getting this car finished ASAP, which means tryng to reduce the amount of fabrication work involved. A premade kit should cut down the build time drastically. I know i've set finish dates before, but believe me, THIS CAR WILL GET DONE FOR THE GLENMAGGIE MEET. It may prove costly, but right now it really seems like the best option, as i can't put a price on my sanity... :P

Apart from that, work has commenced on the boot install. The sub box is almost finsihed, but unfortunately i ran out of fibreglass and can;t afford to buy anymore till next week. I've also started the wiring rack that will hold all my fuses, distribution blocks, capacitor and battery isolator, so even if the install isn't finished by the time the cars done, i can atleast have the stereo fully operational. Lastly i splurged out on 4 sets of top shelf stinger expert series RCA's which has left a biiig gap in my walletn (which i kinda regret now as i wouldn't have got them if i knew i was getting the kit)

BTW, if anybody is after a set of USC side skirts and brock rear bar, let us know...

Thats Ratman's EB. Nice car, and looks pretty tough in the flesh.

A good choice for body kit. Hope all goes well

It's nice but have you considered the gto kit with the front bar from the MMM kit.
I've been considering gto sides and rear for EAV8 but can't find a really beasty front end to suit

Can't wait to see it at Glenmaggie, Steve. It should be great. That car should look tough when it's finally finished.

Thanx for the positive comments, i'm suprised nobody has made a crack about it being finished by then :P

Today we started to organise what is going to be done when time comes to spray the car. We've found a place in south dandenong that rents out a demo oven (apparently mainly used by TAFE students), but seems to be a VERY good one (and surprisingly not too pricey), so with any luck i'll have her booked in 2 weeks from now. (no that's not a misprint :P)
I'm also splurging on a top shelf Binx (spl) spray gun, as the previous cheaper ones we bought have pretty much already stuffed up on us, so i decided to spend the extra dough for peice of mind.

No point in suggesting kits now, it's already paid for and on it's way:P

Yay! we finally get to see some progress.

Good idea ditching the custom bodykit, I never like the WRX bar either. What front bar did Tony have on his EA?

I concur! The new kit is awesome, I had been considering it myself but I don't have enough money for oil let alone a kit!!!

I vow to have my car finished (well back on the road) by the Glenmaggie meet now :P

BTW; I still have your crane hehe

Agreed.

This is going to look FANTASTIC! Ive seen that rear bar on a car here in SA, however they bogged/FG'd up the exhaust outlet and ran a dumper behind the bar. Looked VERY VERY smooth.

Good chocice.

(PS: Expert series. ouch....I baught StingerHPM 0/1awg, that hurt enough)

I asked him a couple of days ago but he has no idea.

More progress, John came over today and we had some fun scuffing back all the niggly little plastic bits that need to be painted which included the door handles, c-pillar trims and rear spoiler. Bought that spray gun aswell which really, really hurt the hip pocket (but don't expect it to become a slut like the engine crane did ;)). Also bought a VERY good condition front bumper from jollies (gave my old one away about 6 months ago : ) and a set of ABS sensors (which upon removal, made me realise i will haveto change a fair few things to get it operational :( ).

Another alteration has been made to the origional plan. For now i will not be bothering with the dual exhaust, mainly because of my money situation atm and also because of the extra time involved in setting it up (which includes both fabrication of the exhuast and the time taken to modify the rear bar to accept dual tips... I may do the dual exhausts later on but for now i haveto focus my time and money towards other things such as booth rental, getting this ABS working properly, installation of haltech etc.

Quite like that idea, as i was wondering how i was going to incorporate the dump pipe into the rear bar. Would rather do that than cut a section out...
