The new Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart.
To quote the Ralliart website (http://www.ralliart.com.au/RalliartV...ColtTurbo.aspx): "RALLIART provides the ultimate turbo engine technology along with Mitsubishi’s new generation of lightweight, high-performance MIVEC engines. The Colt benefits from a powerful 113kW 1.5 litre 16 valve intercooled DOHC turbocharged MIVEC engine. It is packed with other features, including: -Active Traction Control (ATC), an intelligent system that electronically senses if one wheel is losing traction and then sends extra power to the other wheel, keeping you moving. -Active Stability Control (ASC) keeps you in control by automatically recognising understeer or oversteer and applying braking to the diagonal wheel, so you stay on line through tough corners. -Sports suspension, exterior and styling. -16” alloys -Recaro full bucket seats -Rear spoiler -Air conditioning and power windows." Come on, Ford. Where's our ST?

I have seen one of these things in the flesh and exterior is revolting, just isnt a thoughtful combination. Interior is quite nice. Isnt it priced at over 32k?? what a rip off
Also i would have thought more kws was obtainable out of the mivec engine. 113kw is nothing to brag about coming from a turbo car. The peeps in the UK have got over 200hp in the little fez with no turbo and spending only about 5g. Maybe they should have put in an old evo engine. FORD wake up and smell the potential of bringing the XR4 to Oz. You put so much money into the Falcon and Territory that the peeps want a HOT HATCH to rip the competition to shreds. Stop hiding behind a rock and get with the program. It is XR4 we want.

Calling it unattractive would be generous.
I read an article on this in the local paper, and to quote part of it (by Alistair Kennedy): "Those who can't afford the $29,990 to buy a Ralliart Colt can dress up their standard model with a $4000 Ralliart body kit. It seems a bit like cheating, but there has always been a market for the car that looks the part without actually having the performance to back up the appearance."

The colour coded version looks marginally less like cat vomit but still pretty ugly imo

Hardly a tough decision!

The Polo GTI of course : That Mitsubishi is just feral : I dunno whhhhooooooo would buy that! I guess it would suit those looking to upgrade from their dumped Honda Jazz on 17s with heaps of figurines on the dash and a fart can out the back :gren:

i'll agree that its looks are questionable, but i saw one being punted up burwood hwy, it looked like it was gonna roll over on corners. I guess you gotta consider the market that it aims at, not always the same people who drive Fiesta's or polo's. The Colt Turbo may be popular with the people who like ricers and other cars that look like they've been made from cheap bits and peices.

IMHO they need to drop the price to at least the same as the Polo GTi if they seriously want to sell them. I don't think it's got much over the Polo in the way of equipment either? And power is only an extra 5kW and it most likely weighs more?
I'm guessing the Colt would have more interior space?

Why it may not be the best looking thing, it has to be a great drive.
I just hope the chasis can keep up with the power. Sitll wont replace my WRX though. |

I'd take a 74kW Fiesta Zetec over that thing. Look at it, its like a small van. Can anyone say roll-over?

Oh I forgot - we should also see a few people taking then xenon-conversion kits from the Honda Jazz and retro-fitting it to the Colt Turbo.
Well Done Mitsubishi. This is surely the way to a 'revolution' - the first maker to be kicked out of Australia. Wooooooooo

This could be as big a hit as the infamous Ralliart Magna... a lot of people made big losses on them. They never went as well as all the pre release hype either.
