hi, I have an AU1 with irs bearing problems. Took the hub assembly to an engineering workshop and they pressed out the old bearing and put a new bearing and hub in. PROBLEM is, I've done 20 kilometres thats 20, not 20 thousand and the bearing is sloppy and a terribly whining noise is present. WTF? can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Have just sold my AU II and bought a 3 year old Territory. Runs well. Love it. Only problem is the back window. The glass must be slipping down a bit and the plastic attached to it rubs the metal below. Rust is starting to appear where they rub. Also the top of the glass lets in some water after heavy rain.
Does anyone else have this problem and exaxtly what needs to be done about it? |

well yeah
but i reckon if holden can forget heavy v8a & sthe heavy platform to cope w/ their power a 3 L v6 dedicated lpi like falcon could be a real winner a real family car for the fuel if a corrola - am assuming holden is way lighter than falcon - dunno? |

Thanks for the kind welcome russelw. I for one certainly appreciate you welcoming newbies such as myself to the site. I just signed up today.
I have a couple of Fords and joined mainly to get mechanical advice when I need it. I have a little bit of experience with motor vehicles myself, and so I'll try to contribute where I can. I look forward to being involved in the Australian Ford community as this certainly looks like a valuable website for all of those involved. I have to say I really like these little characters too! |

Hi and thanks for a great forum. Have been a Ford driver for many years from a Xf Falcon station wagon to my last one an EL Futura to now my new baby.
A XR50 and I am loving it One thing though I didnt get from the seller was the owner manual and to be honest it has so much to learn as in programming and buttons Im at a loss. Would I be able to purchase one from a Ford dealer or download it from somewhere? Thanks in advance for any information. Bryan |

you will find it is a 170 pursuit & the next engine was a 221 I own 3 66 Xp falcons. the 221 head bolts straight on a 4.1 250 pre cross flow which really boosts the compression which i did to my 68 XT ute many years ago when we did,nt have computers running our motors |

Hello all, New member..I have a 2006 MKII GT 6sp Man in paint code PP Deja Vu with gold stripes.. bought it off the dealer in Lismore and they in formed me it was the dealer principles car and then sold to the baker in town who then after a while traded it in on a new territory..I was told there isnt to many of these in this colour? I was wondering if anyone knows weather this car would be worth a little extra than the more common GT'S? any help would be appreciated..has 114k on the clock

Hi All,
I've joined up looking to glean as much information as I can re xr-xy era, got a reasonably nice xt ute which has been in the family for quite a while. Currently running 302W and 4 speed, started life with the 250 and 3 on the tree. Starting to show signs of age (and only gets driven 1-2 year) so I am considering my options to bring it up to modern standard (XR6 turbo transplant, efi v8 something like that), power steering etc - some might say it's sacriligous but it's by no means original and if I want to keep it and use it as my only wheels it has to be practical (and driveable by my wife). Using the search function but if there are any threads/topics in particular people can direct me to it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ross |

Gidday All,
My names Pete and I come from a Chrysler family - I have 2x Valiant Chargers - Long term projects but have just bought my first Ford - A BA XT 3V V8 Manual in Black. Really enjoying the car, as it is the most modern car I've owned in a while. Looking forward to getting to know my ford, and the good people on this forum. Cheers, Pete |
