we have alway run best 60' and times at track championships, i think this time out we are going on radials and throwing some weight in, we need to practice with a 275 radial and weighing over 3200lbs.

Car is back together and will be getting the two-step setup next week and go back on the dyno to see if we can push her a little harder. Then its off to magazine shoot and hopefully to the track. There are not too many race days left at the moment, and I have some travel for work coming up, so will see where we end up. Hows your beast coming along?

we were probably in the staging lanes waiting to run, spent most of the day there, was busy Joe pumped out some good numbers in the Capri, our first time on a radial, 200lbs heavier, full exhaust, 275 radial she ran 8.53, 8.49 & 8.42, mph was down to 162mph and 1.36-1.39 60's she is fattening up after about 7000rpm so need to lean her out. should be a mid 30 in her and 2-3mph, she was only picking up 31mph in the back half she usually gets 33-34mph when she is all sorted. we are happy, left the line nicely. mine goes in to GrooveRyders next week, do the intake pipe and a few other things, im pushing but not pushing if you know what i mean, i want to make sure we have all the i's dotted and t's crossed as quickly as possible without cutting corners. |

I saw the capri get one pass. It did leave the line nice, so you gotta be happy with that on radials. Track seemed good, just a very slow day. Glad I wasnt racing as I woulda been pretty frustrated. The waiting kills me lately...

i had GrooveRyder do my windscreen. i'm not sure who else does, i know the place he got it from was around Smithfield, Wetherill Park. there is also a place in Penrith that my brother used for his Corolla, they were reasonably priced and did a good job.

Yeah hey guys, went out yesterday to test out a few new things. We did some retuning during the week and have got the two step setup now as well. We also wanted to see how the new taller tyres would impact on the ratios. Unfortunately because of the recent cold snap they reduced the qualifying passes from 3 to 2 so I knew we would only have limited chances for testing. The track was pretty sticky, so even though there wasn't much temp we hoped to get a few good passes in.
First pass was just a chance to see what the track was like and for me to see how the two step works and make sure I got to the end of the track 8.69 with a really slow 1.48 60'. it was also popping a bit across the line, so we wanted to adjust the fuelling.k We realized with the taller tyres we could feed more boost in off the line. 2nd pass, the first one in the video, the car was going better, launched a little harder and was on a mission, right up till I was ready to shift into second and everything just cut out, like we hit a boost cut or something - hence the dip in the nose. We still ran 8.64 @ 166 , so we woulda gone into the 8.5's at least - 60 was down to a more respectable 1.39. So we are on the right track. A couple of little adjustments and we were keen to get back out again. In the end, something came loose in the pass and we went slower, so that was it for the day. Still 60' in the high 1.3's, but was considerably slower in the first half track. Positive signs moving forward. The two step is awesome, so much better, so I am confident of going quicker moving forward. Good to go racing aging, that was for sure. I can now also start to work more on cutting some good lights.

Damn it was that cold and windy I am glad its not on for a couple of months. I got runner up was some great racing in the cold windy conditions, started the day fresh was worn out by the end of it sleep like a baby.
I like the plane it was on before it dropped the nose, looks like its on track to run a good number. |
