Nearly all BA brake lines (rear) have been replaced. Those with BA's should contact their local dealer if the rear lines haven't been changed yet and see if their car is covered for a replacement.
One thing I am curious about, all you guys that do this BA or AUIII brake change, do you also change the Booster? AUI has that crappy plastic one and I just wondered if any of you change that as well? |

there could be an air bubble between the ABS module and the master cylinder
im told this needs to have the ABS module cycled(bridging some pins).. to work the air from this section mines heaps spongy too and i hate it

Well I have decided to upgrade my brakes on the AU1. I will be getting a set of premium brakes, front and rear and all of the front end from a BA XR6 turbo.
Even though I don't need all of the front end, I will get it all so that I can clean and paint all the parts before assembling it into the car. Just makes it easier to do. With the rear calipers,it was said here that a spacer is required between the caliper and the mounting points on the diff. Does anyone know the correct thickness for this plate. I think 2 or 3 mm was the thickness mentioned. Also is the sway bar the same for the AU2/3 and the BA's. Will take my time preparing everything and will get braided lines made and fit while installing everything onto the car.

Wow, I went to buy some BF XR Calipers and found out Rotors are like $300 a peice !! Stuff that..
I think I'll just go with the BA Rears with the 303mm. Does anyone have a part number for these Calipers ? My contact at Ford said they are the same listing as the BF XR Caliper but I'm pretty sure this isn't the case. |

Those were "mates rates" prices from for DBA Rotors for the 328mm
BA 303mm were like $50 each for slotted. I forgot to mention this is for the Rears |

Alright dudes
I brought a set of Rear BA Calipers brand new. Part number matches my existing AU3 Calipers. So I'm guessing the Caliper Mounting Bracket is the only difference between the 287/303/328 Rear Brakes (Makes sense as Ford told me the part numbers for the 303 and 328mm Rears were the same) Hopefully I'm wrong as now I'll have the tedious task of hunting down the Support Brackets. Is anyone able to confirm if they have used the AU Caliper Support Bracket with the 303mm Rears ? I'm assuming most people get the mounting bracket when they get the Caliper off a wreck and thus would never have run into this problem. |

The 328 rears use a totally different caliper to the 303. The rotor is ventilated so is much thicker.

I have read the thread from start to finish and still a tad confused, I want to upgrade my AUII front brakes to the BF XR6T, XR8 what I need to know is what the diameter of the disk and whether the brake lines are adequate, as someone here mentioned that the territory brakes don't bolt up, also what would I be looking at in getting my hands on the calipers and slotted rotters to suit. Part numbers would be a bonus, cheers, Serge

Most here have only gone as far as putting the basic BA brake package onto the AU1 Serge. Best place to go for prices & part numbers would be the Site Sponsor forums - Ferntree Gully Wreckers (FTG) and Race Brakes Sydney. Or get part numbers from the DBA and PBR websites and ring some of the car part supermarkets. Brake lines will be OK, just personal preference to keep them or go braided.

Rotor part number is RDA7934S for the slotted rotor. It is larger than the AU2 rotors. It measures in at 322mm up front, and the calipers you need are B862-360 and B862-359. Your current lines should be up to the task, as long as they will suit the position of the new caliper. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to ask.

But JC, Serge stated that he has an AU2, and wanted to upgrade to BF, hence why I didn't stipulate about the lines

the big brackets are what holds the sway bar to the chassis rails
you need to drill your own holes thru the rail
