Hi All.
I have a 2011 FG GT . The front bucket seats are very shallow and are too high. So I have replaced them with some aftermarket race seats. This has made a huge difference as now I sit about 2 inches lower and I sit in the seat instead of on it. The only problem I have is the new seats do not have the small airbag on the rear of the seat for side impact. I have been told that a 5 watt 2.2 ohm resistor will fool the system to thinking there is still an airbag present. Has anyone done this modification? There is a 4 pin socket for this airbag but I am not sure which terminals to fit the resistor into. Please help. |

Greetings All.
Having recently acquired a 2009 FPV F6 Typhoon i am impressed with the amount of great posts that are in the forum, although FORD Manufacturing may be finishing the passion of its dedicated loyal owners will grow and will always be a reminder to the# Bean Counters# that yes to stay in business you have to be efficient and profitable that goes with out saying but in the cold light of importing vehicles from overseas and putting a badge on them saying FORD i cannot but feel that the PASSION will only ever apply to the local manufactured FORD brand. Hi All
I have finally found one. After a lot of searching I have purchased an Escort MK1 - 2 Door 1972. It's in reasonable condition although I am planning on making it a project. Seems fairly complete. Runs well with a Cortina engine currently. I also have the original engine and will decide later which one wins. The car came with lots of spares. I had a Cortina in my early days and have great memories of good times but always loved the Escorts. The plan is that my son and I will restore this little car and from time to time may call on your expertise as well - if that's OK! It's in the shed and the interiors is already out, electric are on there way out with a lot more to come. My big decision is how to treat the body - dip, blast or good old elbow grease. regards K31tho |

Hi All,
Been a long time lurker when doing google searches of Ford related stuff and coming across Ford Forums posts, and finally decided to join so I could get some tips for the upcoming work i'll be doing on my 2003 XR8. Time permitting, I'll try do some write ups of the following (That may already been posted before, but hey, different strokes for different folks). I'll be doing the following late September - Hopefully: Rear Diff Cradle bushes, Front bushes, Oil Pump / gears, Timing Chain Guides - Including chains. 25% underdrive Balancer and Water Pump. I hopefully will have the money to get some lowered springs and shocks so I can do that at the same time. Last I think I will need a dyno tune (Not sure if I really need one, but trolling the Ford Forums say it would be best, correct?) So recommendations for someone on the Mornington Peninsular world be great. |

I have to admit to being on the other side of the fence though ive owned a few Fords in my time. Its not about us or them but just having a sweet ride. Which is why i joined my son-in-laws BA has a few gremlins we wish to solve and in a short time ive realised the wealth of information available on this site. Its a credit to you guys and some OTHER forums should take note. William. |

Hi all, I have just purchased a 2006 SY Territory RWD as our second car to cater for a rapidly expanding family. I have joined because this forum is second to none in terms of tech advice. The Territory is not perfect but driving the car I understand why they have been so popular with critics and customers alike.
Cheers, Andrew |

Hello.
I am a long time Ford man. I did a mechanical apprenticeship at a Ford Dealership. I own a Mk2 Cortina GT and a Falcon XR6 FG X. This Falcon is the 4th I have owned and sadly probably the last. At the moment parked in my shed is a very nice MK2 Escort which belongs to my son, another Ford finatic ford some reason. Ian Last edited by Falcoman; 19-08-2015 at 06:55 PM. Reason: Forgot my name |

Hi everyone! Just joined today, been a Ford fan all my life. Think I got it from the old man who had a succession of Fairlanes in the 70's and 80's. My ride is a FG XR 50th anniversary sedan . I'm a paraplegic and drive with hand controls.

hello to all my new blue blooded peers
been lurking on and off for years but now i have a good reason to be an active member which is a FG xr6 turbo in gun metal grey (ego i think) which i pick up monday. it might even have been owned by someone from these forums as it has had work done already. I have owned 5 falcons/fairmonts and this is my first turbo () after being on the v8 side of the fence (AU fairmont 5L) i look forward to the wealth of knowledge and attending some cruises in the perth area. |

Hi all Just signed up. Hoping to find out info on my 2014 3.2 Ranger.
Pretty new to forums so giving this a go. I've had issues with exhaust drone with no avail with Ford. They say its tyre noise. What do they know I complained about the gearbox whine and said it was in my head Yip gear box dropped a bearing and then they replaced the box. The drone starts around 1800 rpm and leaves again around 2200 rpm any help would be greatly appreciated Also now I've noticed poor power and torque. They have told me it was a recall form ford ?? Something about an controller rewrite ? Can any one shed some light on these for me ? Thank you all |

Gday everyone
GuinnessMan from WA, BF XR6T Registered specifically to say thanks to "XARATE". Not allowed to msg people yet so I was hoping if someone could contact him to let him know. Went to start the car yesterday, snap, ball bearing falls out from under the steering column and the key spins freely in the barrel. A few swear words were invented... Looked online and came across a forum post, which had a link to the PDF XARATE made with instructions on how to get the rear of the barrel assembly back together. I'm no handyman by any means but got stuck in and had it all back together in a couple of hours. I live remotely and this saved me bulk dollars. I owe you a beer mate. Thanks heaps. |

Hello everyone!
My name's Johan. I have a '07 BF XR6 MKii N/A. Bought it a few months ago and very well liking it! I used to own a Magna for 5 years and got rid of it because it was slowly disintegrating, and was expensive to maintain in terms of making it roadworthy. I've driven an XT before but when I bought my XR, I could not be any happier. So here I am joining AFF and would like to widen my knowledge and talk to like-minded people. I would to learn more about my car (as I'm slowly becoming a Ford guy) and hopefully be of help to others as well. |

Hi guys, long time lurker here. I joined back in 2012 when I had my old xf ute. Unfortunately, the old girl had to go and I never got to be an active member here. Fast forward a few years and a few vehicles and as of last week I'm back in a falcon, a 2003 BA XR6 ute. It's pretty much stock for the moment, bar a set of 18" xr8 rims. Some photos
The old (on an xfalcon cruise, you can see mex351 aka Rob over the other side of the road haha) And the new (took it for a spin down to Beechworth straight after picking it up) Paints a bit average but it'll be used as a ute, so fixing the stone chips etc. are not an immediate priority, but will be attended to in the future. Cheers, Josh |
