Greetings fellow Blue bloods thanks for the add am getting My XK ute back on the road gunna run a 170 with a 2V head and single rail 4speed I know every body runs 250,s but the powers that be here in South Oz are flexing their god mode and saying we want only what the structure stresses can handle and even with an engineers report dont want old cars on the road so any suggestions on fitting a single rail to a narrow block 170 would be greatly received. Cheers.

Hi There to all the current members
Thanks for adding me!! I own 2 x 1968 ford fairlanes, I love the sound of a pure V8 engine and the old school look. I do all the mods myself and have a passion for these old cars. |

Gday all. After bouncing around like Ace Ventura in a Jeep Wrangler for about 13 years, it was time for some luxury in my life.
So without doing enough research I'm finding out now, I lashed out and got myself a 2003 XR8 Phantom. On the whole it's great, but you know, things tick, clunk and just seem a little funny. So yeah questions will be asked in due course. But hey it does get better fuel economy than the Jeep. So I'm winning straight off the bat. This thing ate up the Great Ocean Road the other week. And we got airborne! Love'n it. Mmmmm leather. |

Hi Guys.
I joined for some questions I have with my ford. Its a 2010 Ford Fiesta LX 5DR. I bought my car new from Adelaide, it only has 46k on the clock and I padded up the seats to make them firm and comfortable. Its a black car so in that regard I now hate it but its by far the best car I have ever owned and out performs all the newer models of the Fiesta in power and performance. I am having trouble with the stereo and want to play with USB sticks rather than CD media which skips too often. I was looking for ways to enable bluetooth music but it seems I cannot on my model. My next option would be to replace the head with one from a Zetec. Does anyone know if the sizes are exactly the same and what I need to replace ? The youtube vids make it look very easy to replace the head unit. Brett. |

Hello,
Another option for a failing CD player is a MP3 player that transmits on the FM band. They cost around $10 and work quite well. I use one, and it is a cheap easy solution. Takes SD or a USB stick. Plugs into the lighter. Have a look on E Bay. |

Hey folks,
Thanks for approving my membership. I'm the proud new owner of an '03 BA XR6T Ute in sapphire blue. My reason for joining the forum is that I want to keep this car for as long as humanly possible and that means knowing all I can about it. I figured this is the perfect place for such an education. I'm a huge geek and a bit of a hacker, so I'd love to see if any of my skills in the computing/circuitry area translate into the automotive realm. Look forward to dealing with you all! Cheers, Rhys |

Hello all,
I have joined to find as much information about XH panel vans as I can. I hope to end up with a decent one on gas and manual. I plan on tripping around and a bit of towing. At this stage I think it would be easier to find one on gas then do the manual conversion rather than the other way around. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated! One thing I am having trouble finding is the information on the XH ID plate. Thanks, Jim. ZC Fairlane XY Fairmont |

Hi guys!
I'm a 12 year old girl. I was born in November 2003 in Broadmeadows Victoria. I've driven approximately 260,000 kms. I think I may have leprosy because lots of little bits keep falling off me. I have recently just started leaking 3 different fluids all from the same area around my Water pump/Power steering pump/Cam chain tensioner but I'm told this is normal for girls my age. I vibrate a bit when hard on the stoppers and I always complain if I'm driven too hard over bumps - I think my front end is a bit loose. Anyway, I just thought I'd show off a picture of my motor for all you guys to drool over. 20160316_194636.jpg Thanks for having me guys! BArbara. |

I was recently bought by my new owner for 1700 bucks. I think my owner thought I was in slightly better condition than I am. I do however have one redeeming feature - a very tight rear end.
Here is a list of things my new owner has been complaining about: ICC top triangle broken T-bar plastic bubbled and cracked Gear knob crack bubbling(.. I'd better not..) Drivers seat trim cracked Rear speaker covers perished Cup holder cover broken (again I shall refrain myself) Drivers seat front mounts broken off Right rear indicator has a .45 calibre sized hole in it Stone guard deflector flapping Exhaust has been welded and tip is a bit bent Right rear door central locking not working Drivers seat belt barely retracts maybe Left rack end loose (ahem) Left tie rod end worn Swaybar D rubbers loose (excuse me) Bald rears (probably normal at my age) Steering wheel peeling Power steering leak Heater hose to water pump leak Cam chain tensioner oil leak Front grill tech-screwed at one side and flapping from broken bottom clips Stains on carpet in cargo area .. Etc. Etc. Etc...... This is after a quick preliminary check. When they get me up on the hoist the fun will really begin. I guess as you said vinny it may just be puberty but I have been around the block a fair few times. |

Keep your chin up and i'm sure your new owner will try very hard to fix all your inadequencies. Cheers Vinny

Hi all,
Due to pick up my XR8 on Monday after 3 years of ownership of a WRX. The WRX was a nice car but missed the V8 sound / performance. Last V8's were a headed / cammed VY ute and before that a twin turbo VE SS. Already looking forward to getting a tune and see how the new car goes but will probable wait until after the 3k service. Cheers |

Hello there, thank you for allowing me to become a member of the Ford forum AU.
I'm in the process of doing a mode to a 1964 Ford F100 twin I beam, I've replaced the engine with an Australian Ford Falcon 4:0 litre fuel injection type with auto box. I've been trying to simplify the wiring harness by just using the engine & gearbox management system but I've run into a snag because l'm not able to get my hands on a colour wiring diagram for the section , please help- thanking you in advance for your kind help to this matter. Regards Shane Abbott Zimbabwe |

Hello Shane,
What is the engine out of that you have ? The early EA was made for a short period of time with a Carb version. Wont run as well as injection, but less likely to get stuck also. On E Bay you will be able to find a service manual CD. Have a look, it will be nice to see some Pics of you project. If you are able, watch the Charles Bronson movie Mr Majestik. It has an old Effie that takes some punishment ! |
