I reckon they are crazy if they aren't stockpiling engines right now and then get them into XR8s as cheaply as they can.

then it will sell like hot cakes. SSV has proven there's a very solid market for sports luxo-ish sedans. its only problem is the somewhat restrained performance. no such downside to the XR8.

I'll be surprised if it doesn't make a significant dent in SSV sales, but then again, Holden may simply spec it up as per the US version....

I don't know if this was the line you're thinking of, but when Wheels compared the BA Falcon XT to the VY Executive, they concluded that the BA Falcon was "too good a car to be wasted on taxi drivers". I still remember that line off the top of my head. If memory serves, BA XT had 4.5 stars, VY Executive had three. I still have a copy of that but I can't be bothered fishing it out right now.

I wonder if we'll see any of the new Falcons as taxis. My understanding is that taxi fleets generally turn over their cars every 8 years, so we could still have Falcon taxis until 2024.

DASH GT is on the money.

The visors look black to me in the front shot as car is driving down the road. Also full side shot in factory shows black A and B pilers.

Don't forget videos of marketing generally show fully optioned cars. Imo the brembos will be a 6k option as they were for the GT.

No they will be standard equipment. Ford would not build an Xr8 with 335kw and not fit proper brakes.

GT and GT rspec brembos were both options. There is precedent for 335's without them.

I'm just speculating what may be.

Tis got nothing to do with the GTF, its purely to do with spec levels of the XR.

IMO it would be good to see a 6/4 cross drilled option. That's all I was saying...

i'd be nice if they gave the XR6 Turbo a mild tune and rated it at 290kw like the last official (FG) XR8, and have the XR8 at 335. That'd be a nice pair of cars, basically the same power to weight.

While I'm more partial to the XR8 I'll be keeping an eye on the Final XR6T aswell, would be great if they give that a solid send off aswell with atleast a "Premium Pack" upgrade like that had with the BA in regards to Wheels and Brakes.
