That is crazy if he gets charged.
He was invited to do a burnout at the charity event! All forseable controls were met. If anything, the event organisers should be charged.

Absolutely tragic... I'm not sure that anyone has responsibility for the deaths, but there are a lot of lessons to be learnt here, most of which should already have been known :(

The Herald Sun tried a beat up story cause he got caught drink driving back in 2000, implying he was probably at it again. : Typical journolistic BS. No one in their right mind would drink drive in a drag car.

If no criminal charges, i would expect civil will still be an option.

I would think troy could charge the oganisers to. Not saying he should . it is a tragety and from the 60 minutes story the mother wants blood . Can't say i blame her but directed a troy i dont think so . He should of said no to doing the run but with all those people cheering you on it would be very hard to do so. I believe it was just a standard road minmal traction . bad organisation.

Typical Americans not able to be accountable for their actions and need a scapegoat to sue.
The organisers should bear the brunt of this. |

Saw the story. It would be down right wrong if troy cops this. Living with it is punishment enough IMO.

Honestly I dont think anyone should be to blame. Everyone their would have been well aware what they were doing was dangerous. It was a freak accident. Yes it could have been prevented, but then again no one was forcing those people to stand their. It's a terrible thing to happen but to blame Troy, C'mon hes a professional. If he couldnt stop it know one could.

I believe (from the story) the local police chief was in charge of crowd placement and safety. So if anyone is going to be the scapegoat, there's your man.
I wish Troy all the best for the case and hope justice is served (ie no conviction), the poor bloke has to live with it and that is punishment enough. I know for a fact one of my brothers was involved in a fatal accident and had nightmares for years afterwards.

as you said though, troy is a professional. he should have realised, that while he would nearly always have it under control, there may come a time when an accident could happen. to have people so close, when performing a demonstration in a drag car seems so totally crazy and irresponsible to me i would suggest that if the scenario that happened had gone through troy's head before hand, that he would have expected the court case and litigation. if that was the case why would he risk everything when so much could go wrong he was the driver involved and he was the one who was responsible for the performance, both good or bad. unfortunately the worst case scenario happened having said all this, i am sure that he has gone through a massive amount of mental anguish already and the incident will stay with him for the rest of his life. maybe he has paid enough and will continue to pay even without any charges |

Thats right, as he said he often cries himself to sleep. I honestly had teary eyes watching it. I feel for this bloke and I deeply hope he isn't charged. No one should have to live through this let alone the rest of the rubbish he is facing. The organisers have more to answer for IMO, but it was still an accident. And in the case of such an Accident no one can really be to blame. Maybe Troy should have known better, but on the other hand so should the spectators, I bet they didn't think about the worst.
