The best thing when you go to the movie always be prepared. A bag of JAFFAS comes in handy.

a worse one is a few weeks ago, i suggested a movie theater in parramatta , it has a great theater room and allocated seating. i sat next to a bloke in his late teens , who had the flu. he was clammy and sweaty around the face . he could not stop coughing . he had no hanky, and was covering his face to cough onto his hands, his nose was running, and he was wiping his hands on his shirt and the arm rests to get all the spit and snot off. he thought he was being curtious by covering his mouth when coughing . he was coughing that hard the air and snot dribblets from his mouth and nose was comming out the side of his hand and landing on me . i kindly turned and said FORRRR FFA SAAAKE MAAAATE. do you have to come here in that state. he swaped seats with his misses . too late . the next week i'd had the worst flu in 10 years . and 3 days off work in bed. |

My mum and sister inlaw went to the movies during the day.. only to have it ruined by a young couple going for it (quite loudly too) . Were they annoyed? no, they clapped and cheered them on, offered advice too. They even heckled them out in the carpark. Thats when the boy told them to off and flipped mum the bird.

lol easy fix is a 'guy' who knows where to get the latest movies and a projector (150" screen makes any plasma look tame) and a surround sound hookup in the lounge. No Kids, no emos and no one kicking your seat

I remember seeing The Simpsons, and I swear these 2 teenagers must've had something crawling in their pants, because they were going up, and down the walk way every 5 minutes or so.

If some one near me is making noise and talking, I kindly ask them to go to a cafe and pay to talk there instead of in a movie

Great example was this woman the other night when I went to the movies. Cinema would be dead silent, something happened on screen, and she would laugh.
But this is not your normal laugh, she sounded like a 13B rotary.

My brother used to be a projectionist. It was great, I more went to the movies in the he was there more times than ever before, with him for free.
He told me one day by accident he put on some R16 film (cant remember what) which opened with a gory fight scene with bloody voilence and swearing. Problem was the film showing was supposed to be some kids animal movie since the cinema was filled with young kiddies and their parents. It didnt take long for someone to complain and for good reason. Lol.

Went with my younger brother and a mate (who hasnt the longest fuse) a few years back. Teen a few rows back and across takes a call about 15 mins into the movie, short chat and off. Then about 10 mins later another one, chatting a bit louder this time. My mate yells full voice if you dont turn that effin thing off I will come up there and shove it up your###. Never seen someone hang up so quick in my life, then gave the offender another serve on the way out. Cannot for the life of me work out what is so important they cant turn phones off for a cpl of hours.

I admit, Im not the quietest laugher. I am vocal when I laugh and I tend to laugh alot, but I only try and do it at an appropriate scene of the movie.
That being said, Gold Class doesnt allow under 18's in there, and you tend to get late 20's to higher age groups attending. Costs more I know, but what you get like reclining seats, alcohol, hot food, no kids and far less advertisements on the screen, I dont mind paying the extra. I have been to Gold Class many times and havent had a bad experience yet. Not saying someone else hasnt but your chances of enjoying the movie without interuption is higher. That said, the only issue I have is when the ushers come in to serve others food/drinks etc and they walk in front of you blocking your view. They try and duck down the best they can, but thats the only gripe I have. Going 'povo' class as my mrs calls it, is certainly cheaper, but you have to accept the pro's with the con's. But it would be nice to have people respect others when it comes to a watching a movie in a public cinema.

Reflecting on my last post has got me wondering if drive-in's do still exist in queensland. The last movie i saw at the drive-in was back to the future 2, and ive just assumed that they were a thing of the past. I would love to relive the old days and visit one again. Do any forum memebers know of any drive-in's in SEQ?
