I reckon "Aurally" would be the best description, or maybe "Audibly"

But yeah, Mercs have that speed limit feature. I remember the first time I encountered it in dad's wheels. Was turning onto the highway with traffic coming up fast but I thought ahhh I'll just hammer it and blend in by the time they reach me. I somehow bumped the switch (which had been preset at 40km/hr by the previous driver) as I was pulling out onto the freeway, only to hit the 40km/hr and stop accelerating. Took a bit to realize what the hell happened, and a bit of fiddling found the right switch. Needless to say my undies needed changing after that... not the kind of thing you want to accidentally engage at moments like that...

LOL this thread has been a good giggle. Although a "VOCAL speed limit indicator" would be a hoot in my AU, i'd be more likely to hammer it just to see if the "voice" could keep up with the acceleration of a 347
