I agree it should be changed, use the existing one, just bring the T's to the front and the BA can be shifted into the background a bit :

Replace the fg gt with an f6 and it's going in the right direction.

Sleep on this one for tonight, just a 15 minute job:
Its only 50% done, I am still looking for a suitable AU falcon image and i may try and incorporate a HO. Still messing around with the "fordforums.com.au" part. Pretty tired tonight, will give it a proper go tomorrow. Cheers TPH

Then you'll get the people complaining there isn't an X series, or E series or Territory, or one of the Euro Fords...

I agree. There is always someone who will say their favourite/model of car isn't on the banner.

The banner should have the latest FG model on it.

I think it should just be changed to 3 AUs, and be done with it.

Personaly I dont have a problem with the current banner, the cars featured in it do nothing for me, and fall under the "just transport" catagory for my personal tastes, but the banner is well known (as far as internet banners go) and until there is a change in models that actualy looks like a change lets face it the BF and BG are just freshen ups off the BA (yes I know every pannel is different blah blah blah, but it still looks like a BA, the VE dunnydoor looks vastly different over the VZ so I can see why but BG please!!! I cant see any point in changing just yet

Banner could go with an update as it's been there since day one, there are many skilled Members on this and other motorsport Forums, that may be interisted in the job as an off the side project.

What the banner needs is a rotation.....other sites have them, why can't AFF. You could have a complete rotation of cars from the XK through to the current FG........constantly flipping through every model...........everyone would be happy and the site would not be devalued.......... |

Instead of having specific models should we consider something like a closeup of a Ford badge on a grille etc - something thats recognisable as a Ford part but is not so "model specific"

But i agree with what your saying i think that would be a great idea, but wouldnt have a clue on how to do but im sure someone would. Or maybe just a rotating Ford/FPV/Tickford badge

on my site i have about 10 frames loaded into an animated GIF file. It cycles every 6 seconds. The file is only about 250KB, and with most people on broadband, this is nothing to download. Having said that, the banner that loads a new frame every time the page is refreshed, aka xffalcon.com is a good idea too. Big Kev's images were pretty good from memory, all those months ago when this idea was being discussed.

If you were going to go that route, it would be best to keep them all JPG's and use a rotating script that has nothing to do with a gif. The script calls random images no matter what they are, from a specific list. I would suggest who ever does it, if it gets done, to do it properly, or hire someone who can actually do it, to do it. Images that aren't cropped out properly, and are chopped off, blurry and skewed as they currently are don't look very professional.
