Now they've given the G6E/T the praise it deserve. This award is only telling everyone what we already know, and that is that the G6E/T is a beast.

Looks bloody fantastic though. And as I've said before, I wouldn't (and don't) put too much stock into these "of the year" awards. They are spastic and make little sense. |

Just shows what I already knew, along with many here. Hopefully the MEDIA will actually give it some air time and make a noise about it like when the VE won WCOTY.

I still love the variation in response.
Accord Euro got the Drive.com.au COTY and it was pooh-pooh, while the G6ET gets the Carsguide COTY and it's all thumbs up. Regardless of awards, the Falcon is a damn good car, but it isn't the only good car out there. Awards come down to judges, who may each have their own interpretation of key criteria. For families that like Japanese-built cars with little care about power or performance, the Accord will do them nicely. For families who like poor visibility and a thirsty V6, the Commodore will do nicely etc. If you can ignore the comparatively-poor resale value, then the Falcon will do nicely.

Just watched Ch 10 news where they were reporting on the Audi A3 Diesel winning the Carsguide Green COTY. Our friend Paul Gover was also on talking about it.
No mention of the G6ET winning COTY however. |

Ford will do well out of this. Remember the run they had with the BA and then Territory. That was Wheels of course, but it should certainly win that comp if the VE could win it. FG is miles ahead of VE.
Let's hope we get a stack of sales from it. The adds should repeat the excellent comments already made about it. Go Ford! GK

Gotta wait until Wednesday for mine to come in and the trade in, finance etc to be worked out. Saw it again today over the road at pre delivery to show my service advisor; just looking at it gives me a chubby. Well done ford, brilliant work on a brilliant vehicle that after driving won me over on the emotion that I just couldn't live without it. Never has a ford inspired me so much. Congrats to all those who designed and built this magnificent car.

If Fords marketing department had half a brain they would use every one of the journos quotes they used in the article prasing the car, in an advertisement, because some of those comments are extremely flattering.
ie. Best car ever made in Australia. |

Congratulations to Ford Australia and all the suppliers that spent thousands of hours in R&D to make this one of or if not the best Falcons ever but sadly at the worst possible time. I know that Ford pushed suppliers hard to get the best possible product at a very competitive price to fend off cheaper imports.

Good to see it win an award, it definitely deserves it, that said however, there are many decent cars out there that also would of been worthy winners.
But they didn't :

To those that say that it is only about the G6ET
"While the G6E Turbo is the focus car of the award, it is the entire FG range, and the dedication to detail within it, that has been recognised by the judging panel."
