correct me if i`m wrong but one of the respected tuners did mention in a thread sometime ago that the qaulity of some 4;11 diff gears was very poor and after being built with them ended up a short time before being noisey again, anyone remember this post?

ok... been gone 2 days and my thread has gone up in flames hahahaha. So basically you are saying 1,100 is cheap for 3.73 but its basically no use (I have VCT so I assume I have 3.45) and to just go 3.9? monty, where did you get your diff done for so cheap etc?

A couple of points - I think The Monty's point is that you can't get much indication of condition (unless its really bad) of diff gears from a visual inspection.

kratas, sounds like they are ignoring using second-hand gears which is their prerogative. The 3.73 gear ratio sounds a bit odd to me - I'd associate that ratio with the M86 diff not the M78 you have. Having said that, they might be available from South Africa! I think the best advice is get a second (& third) opinion.
