This Falcon is a great opportunity to promote the benefits of owning such a car. Ford could for instance do a round Australia run, using a petrol fueled Toyota Corrola and the new LPi Falcon. At the end of the trip, I feel certain the fuel costs for the petrol powered Toyota Corolla, would be greater than the the LPi Falcon. This would certainly give boasting rights that the Falcon was more economical on fuel than a Toyota Corolla, with greater comfort and safety. Such results could be used in future advertising to promote the fact you don't need to buy a small car to save money on fuel. Ford needs to promote its products more effectively, not just sit back and see market share slide away |

If I was a manager at a ford dealer I would make sure the sales staff push this HARD............ And ford to have great advertising campaign so they can ride on.
With that much comp I'm sure this engine has been detuned, herrod u have a job to do........ LOL

I heard a rumour there was a dispute between the LPG developer (Sprintgas possibly???) and Ford that had put the E-Gas falcons on the back burner for a while, while the proprietry rights on the new system were fought out in court.
Could be wrong just what I was told...

The court case goes back to at least 2004 from memory too, so it is fairly old news but still interesting all the same.

I heard that about a month ago at work, that they would not have TV ads for EcoLPi.
Absolutely staggering considering how important it is to Falcon volumes. |

Maybe Ford are smart enough to realise GAS just wont sell in the private sector so advertising would just be a waste of money.. Gas is for fleet buyers period!!

Having to top up petrol only adds to the maintenance/running costs. Plus it would'nt allow the Torgue/power figures being made by the higher compression ratio the LPi engine now has.... This new system is the ducks nuts! I'm going in this arvo to ask how many orders have been made.... None of which will be mine though.
