As far as Static goes, once it is applied there is no issue and does not become a dust magnet, vinyl actually is easier to wash than the Paint. The condition of the Paint when vinyl is installed will be the same when it is finally removed.

Avery, 3M and Arlon make Air release easy apply vinyls. Avery make one that slides across the surface till pressure is applied and then the glue activates.

There are many types, would be good if you could get details. New products come out all the time, some with outlandish claims then no support or quality. Some are great in USA or Europe but in Australia the conditions are much harsher vinyl does not last as long here.
