it is disgracefull. I think its disgusting that humans..that run OUR country can let things get this bad. Its all a big circus on paper to them. SET UP OUR COUNTRY TO SUIT US...NOT YOUR NEXT TACTICAL MOVE FOR SOME POLITICAL AGENDA

What is more scary is seeing how ignorant Australians are. They think we don't need a car industry, and they're more than happy to let it die.

Car industry is of strategic value to any country. Engineering and manufacturing capability is essential in case of conflict - car industry should be protected and supported.

Even for the locally produced cars, so many essential parts are imported (with no capability in country) that we couldn't manufacture vehicles if there was a conflict that closed the ports.

We'd still have the capability to design and manufacture... but that is slowly slipping away.
