Scarey .. Falcon ute is the best fit for our lifestyle at the moment. Downgrading to a "pickup" is a horrible thought ;)

The Falcon i would have bought brand new has been killed a number of years ago. Id have loved a new car, no rust, no previous owners, maintain it properly since day one and not have stupid problems come up later. Oh well.
Keeping my AUII wagon till either of us die.

Mustang
f250 Lincoln Failing all that a 300c. Buying a Commodore won't be an option as its likely to be gone before Falcon, and its against my DNA.

Bit surprised to hear how many would jump straight into a Commodore. I would drive my current Falcon till the day I die. As long I can still source the parts at U pull it

Not sure - one of the appeals of a Falcon is the price and availability of replacement parts. I don't like the look of the new Aurion, but the first generation looked OK - I'd test drive a few, at least.
If Falcon is no more, I wonder what all the taxi operators would buy. Holden like to claim they got out of the taxi market for image reasons, but I think they'd take the sales if they could. Unless Toyota makes a pitch for that market like they did with the Avalon... |

The replacement for the Falcon...
If none the Mondeo Ecoboost hatch. Hopefully they take some learnings from the US and bring out AWD or even a a hybrid!

Firstly there would never be a holden here
Id have a toyota first , bought new toyotas for years, because they were a better build, better quality, and held better resale, than both holden and ford So as a package ,on a money value not an ego value, id go back to toyota, regardless if ford or holden stopped manufacturing ... As my hip pocket cant handle the massive depreciation new cars have, ill drive the AU tray back till it dies, if repairs out strip its value, its of to sims, and ill buy another AU tray back for a coupla grand and go again |

A lot of people are saying they would drive their Falcon until they die, which is fair enough but the essence of the question is what would you buy if you had to buy another new car where Falcon was no longer a option

I'm replacing my EL Falcon with an LWII Focus.
I did look at a new Falcon, but decided that i'd be better off putting the difference in repayments (~$50/week) towards my house deposit.

Looks like I have moved on from performance sedans and more into a work/play ute so a Ranger would be the pick for me. If no Rangers I would probably go an Amarok.

I'd go a new Titanium Petrol Territory and LPI it.
My mate has one and it gets 12 litres per 100 on average. That's better than my AU wagon, which gets 13 on a highway run. GK

What is more surprising is the amount of models being mentioned that are in a totally different segment to the Falcon.

Something else with a Ford badge!
Ford have one of the best ranges of cars at the moment so I am sure whatever they replace the Falcon with will be excellent. A family member has just bought a Mondeo Ecoboost and it is a very good drive. I would certainly buy this over a Commodore any day of the week. |

would have to keep the falcon or buy a second hand one. they are just a brilliant car.
if it died and I couldn't get a decent second hand one. would have to pull it apart and rebuild it as a project, put a new engine gearbox etc in it. |
