Nothing at all.
'Cause, it all tends to find it's way into the back seat.

Some rags
A compact 3 stage hydraulic jack (cause the standard jack supplied with the Territory should not be used if you value your car or your life) A flat metal plate and some blocks of wood A 3/8 socket set Some cable ties A raincoat Spare taillight globes Tyre pressure gauge Small torch Small shifter a pair of occi straps and a spare ignition key hidden away. ( I also keep a door key, without a chip, hidden under the car)

I have one of those supercheap tool kits that has everything in it except the tool you need, a pair of surfboard soft racks...and for the last two weeks the dogs lead and collar after I had to have her put down. I stuffed them under the carpet in the boot so I didn't have to look at them and couldn't bring myself to chuck them. I think they'll stay there for a while.

Golf driver club. Haven't been to the driving range for ages. I probably should take it out.
I had a first aid kit, but I think it was removed when I moved houses. I really need to get a good kit together with first aid and basic tool/supplies. |

I have a few things, all but one are pointless now that I think about it.
Jumper leads - the only thing that might be useful Radiator hoses and a bit of heater hose - pointless because I have nothing to remove the clamps with The factory bumper jack and spare - I have nothing to take the nuts off the wheel with, even if I did I wouldn't use the bumper jack I also have a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher left over from a camping trip under the seats. I might need to rethink what I keep in my boot. |

A fairly well stocked toolbox (Dad's a mechanic...), spare tyre, jack and brace, jumper leads, couple of rags and a few spare bulbs.
Currently I have a new set of bump stops as well. Need to install them next time I service the car. In my old XD I had all that plus 6L of water and 4L of oil. A torch, pen, and first aid kit are in the glove box.

black plastic, zip ties, duct tape, and a shovel....................nah not really, just a 17" spare tied in the corner of the ute as the 16 under the back wont fit over the brakes on the front.

Spare and jack obviously although technically they are under the boot floor
12V tyre pump although its pretty useless pumping 1 psi in every few minutes and you are only supposed to run it for 30 sec intervals. Jumper cables 500mm water bottle I use to top up my washer bottle A few rags

Let's be brutally honest...a few kilo's one way or another isn't going to affect your fuel economy in any measurable way in the real world...you won't notice.
If you were really overly concerned about excess weight in your car, then you should always leave your fuel tank with only about twenty liters in it instead of sixty or seventy...that's nearly fifty kilo's saved right there! In the Celica, I carry a wheel brace, a smallish air compressor for the tyres, and an ammo box with some spanners and pliers and stuff in it (weighs maybe two kilo's), and a chamois and polishing cloth. Oh, and a small bottle of bug and tar remover. In the Triton we carry a heavy duty 4WD air compressor, and a recovery kit (snatch strap and big d-rings). Behind the rear seat is a chamois, cloth, a couple of small ratchet straps, and another bottle of bug and tar remover. If we're going away on a trip, I throw in a 12 volt rattle gun kit we own. |

Fiesta: mini compressor, tyre goo, fire ext (because the factory velco tabs looks bare without it) unbrella, first aid kit from the 60's (found in my deceased grandfathers car) and a big green silicon bucket for the shopping and to avoid getting mess on my new carpet
Commodore Wagon: a huge steel box with lots of tools, oil, water (only recently realised there is no lock nut for the wheels) and a bald spare tyre
