Not really the first pics, because this was spotted by someone at Performanceforums about three weeks ago.

I knew I'd seen these. A few days ago I passed both silver and blue ones in the xr6T on Reynolds Rd Templestowe. I tried to take a couple pics but missed them.

Those pics were taken in the top Carpark of The Pines Shopping Centre which is literally a Click up the road from where I saw them. I knew to be looking out for news after I passed them because the camo was really thin.

I seriously hope this fails epically and Holden goes down the sh*tter. I'm so over hearing and seeing all this speculation on the 'fastest ever aussie car ' when no one knows ***** yet. Same story with every Holden that gets released, it's the fastest thing out, but actually turns out to be a slow piece of crap, but rregardless it's still seen as a Ferrari killer.

..... and the AU was also better than the FG which is better than the VE .... etc. Doesn't say much about the VE does it!

If the HSV S/C engine is as successful as the VX was .... and even at 50% more powerful (IF they do it which I would be very very surprised they do!) ..... Damn, they will be in strife!

Won't happen. The Miami blown Falcon has held off multiple 6.2L blown Commodores/HSV's at the last 2 Motor Magazine Hot Tuner Contests. The Falcon reigned supreme in the 0-100 and the standing 1/4 mile at the last two annual events. 2011 saw the Autotech Engineering GT, Herrod Motorsports GS "Proto 8", and KPM's GS "Streetfighter" all trounce the blown VE's that entered the competition, and they did this while giving away a capacity advantage. 2012 saw Sutto's (forum member) KPM "Streetfighter" equipped GT-E trounce it's rival VE GTS which was also blown.

Just because Holden/HSV or some fanboy reporter say its going to be fast doesn't always ring true, especially when referring to a HSV. The guys in the red corner have had their backs against the wall in the war against the blue corner for speed and power bragging rights, this has been the case for a long time thanks to the reign of the F6 and whatever this "mule" is, it ain't gonna change jack!

Less outrageous styling is a good thing in my opinion as is the weight saving aluminium bonnet.

Ford should take this cue and trim some weight using aluminium (the raw material is fairly cheap at the moment) and improve the aerodynamics of the next Falcon while they're at it.
And while they (Ford) are at it, they could drop in the 420hp (313kw) n/a Mustang Coyote 5.0 (or even the 444 hp version) - and reintroduce the lamented XR8. However they would no doubt not bother to market it properly again (ie hopeless) & it would gain no market cudos / credibility.

ABOUT time someone who knows whats goin on...lets not mention the 2 or 3 times amount of money they had to spend on the commadores in those contests. One car had over 100k spent on it from memory...and we all know how far even 10g gets you with a GT or turbo ford these days
This new car will probably look great...but suck to much

Can I just point out the obvious and remind everyone that the title of Australia's fastest car does not equate to more sales. FPV will attest to that, in fact all it's good for is for kids to argue over in the school yard.

I actually prefer the current HSV with the bonnets and the guard vents - makes them stand out from a basic commondore, such a shame these won't have them, they won't look that much different except different tail lights, grille, bumper bars and few other things - just makes changing a cheaper basic model into one easier and for lots less money - pretty much like people do with the XR8's just put a GT stripe on her mate or change the front bar or better still put a "turbo" badge on a XR6

Haven't the last 2 cars to claim that been limited editions anyway? GT R-Spec and W427?
