Spare me the BS. It's all very good in theory but unrealistic in the real world.

you have short memories. John Howard clearly stated that when the Iraq war ended, fuel prices will drop to below $1.00 per litre. Just be patient.

And people were gullible enough to actually believe this?

I love you city folk picking and choosing what day to get fuel. It doesnt matter one bit out here. Going to a servo is like going to the brothel. Guaranteed you will get screwed and an empty wallet.

Been like this for the last 2 weeks in Mount Gambier.. Nearly fell over at the LPG! :o

Granted this is the most expensive, don't know what petrol prices are but the best for LPG currently is 89.9cpl here.

Not yet, but I've decided I'm not going to be one of those that sits around in the poor class complaining about those in the wealthy class.

I'm one of the ones that has decided to educate myself sufficiently to climb into the wealthy class.

I've decided. So I will.

And it's obvious that you have decided - your avatar, your signature, the content of your posts...

Scrap that, just saw a servo here with it for $108.9.

If I was to go away for christmas, it would almost be cheaper to run my BF on petrol over LPG!

Having a look around online I see prices in Adelaide are around ~96cpl for LPG while melbourne is ~89cpl..

I guess it isn't too bad down here considering they have to truck it in, I am 430km from a capital city.

This is criminal. It wasn't that long ago that lpg was around 15c.

Just remember the Gt40. When Ford wants to go racing they can humiliate even Ferrari... I'm sure the 427 Shelby Cobra still makes some Euro car lovers break out in a nightmarish sweat...

As to the price of petrol, it is what it is and there is nothing we can do about it. Another forum member explained the price rises beautifully, a few years ago when he said it's because the sea is wetter today than it was yesterday...

That my friend is wishful thinking at it's finest...

If the person reading your post is relatively wealthy or works hard and earns a good living, they will most likely agree with what you said... but the system is designed to take from the lower/middle class and feed the top 2-3%.

Sure there are whingers who could improve their financial situation if they put in the effort but when you look at the overall picture, it's a predatory system.

Most of us will eventually end up losing!

Anyways, back to the topic... I remember back in 2006 when petrol hit $1.30 and people were signing petitions and threatening to boycott certain fuel companies... obviously didn't work so no point complaining, just fill up and drive.

Its not controlled by anything. If it was, it wouldnt jump 20 cents a litre in a day. The issue is, that circa 70% of Australian fuel needs are imported. Theres no incentive for a oil company or refiner to sell to Australia, if they can get a better price from an overseas customer. We simply have to pay world prices. Every country does, even the Saudis do, even tho they only pay 10 to 20 cents a litre at the pump.

Its funny, the same people here who want to buy parts on the net from overseas because they are cheaper dont want to pay the more expensive overseas rate for fuel.

Don't know about anyone else, but I will enjoy taking the 8-iron over to the coast for a few days over the holidays.

The odd fuel stop makes for good photos.

I was referring to bobthebilda's statement that the Saudis pay world prices for their oil like everyone else, yet only pay 10-20c at the pump. How do they manage that?

Oh well no different to any other price hikes, if you need it you will pay for it.

So while other countries subsidize their fuel, Australia taxes the **** out of it.

And they call us the lucky country?

Off the topic a bit but do know anyone that is wealthy , I mean really wealthy
Well I do
My brother in law ( who I will not name) has an estimated wealth of $300 million AUD

I asked him once how did you manage to be so successful
He said 2 things
Hard work
And luck

I said to him luck ?
He said yes , there are many people he knows that are smarter , harder working than him and do everything right but have not succeeded

You have to be at the right place at the right time and acording to someone that has more money than anyone can spend in a life time, that is luck

I am a sales manager with a multinational I have an MBA and I have exceeded sales targets at every company I have worked, signed multi million dollar deals but I have never been able to "hit the big time"

Guys not as smart as me who stay out late with the boss, get ****ed, go to the parlours with the boss ignor their families and cheat on their partners have been promoted over me

Who says you need an education to earn big bucks

We have a driver ( contractor) where I work that's earns close to 400K per annum
He's as dumb as they come but he is a machine

Good luck with your plan to educate yourself to move into the "upper class" sounds like you have it all figured out ?
Make sure you let us know when you make your first million
