Nope, don't work. Especially the electronic "Shu Roo" ones. Just a scam. A university went to the Western Plains Zoo and tried it out on roos, as well as in the wild. On or off, the roos just stood there and didn't notice. They're related to those "ultrasonic" rat and mice deterrents you used to be able to buy for your house which were proven to be a useless scam some years back.

A workmate had one fitted by his employer to a work vehicle at great expense at his previous place of employment. He asked "How much did it cost???", and then said to his boss "Look, how long since you had a reps car hit a roo?", the boss replied "Ooo, a lot of years I guess, but the advertising for these things looked great". My workmate said "So if you keep on driving around not hitting roos now, do you attribute that to the expensive device you just bought, or just continued good luck?".

I've been driving since 1982, and have never hit a roo. If I fitted those little whistles or spent big on a Shu Roo to my car tomorrow, and I drive for years more and don't hit one, what do I give the success to? The device or continuing luck? That's the sort of thing the makers of these useless devices count on.

Where is said research? I know those pest things you plug into the wall at peoples houses, my mates mum had one, I could hear that ****** everytime I entered but no one else could. She actually always asked me when I walked in if it was plugged in or not. I hate those things....

Am I seriously the only one who can hear those shu roo high pitched BS, gives me a headache. It may not get rid of roos but it makes me leave someones house thats for sure!

I'd love a set of those, but when I was looking at a kit it was over $1200 just for the regular train horns, Nathan Airchimes were much more.
