They are using DMCA to prevent anyone except their agents working on their products.
This sort of thing couldn't happen in Australia due to our consumer laws.
Apple just got raked over the coals by the ACCC for similar practises, saying people's warranty were void if others worked on their phones.
The tiger isn't quite toothless here in Oz.
