That reminded me. I was designated service guy for our servers during the Olympics which gave me an all access pass! Unfortunately none of our equipment fell over but I did manage to pop into the beach volleyball as I had a few calls to do around the Bondi area to do a bit of uhm... 'pre-emptive maintenance'. Sadly, none of our equipment was actually being used there, but I popped in a few more times just incase they decided to use some later in the week.

Never got a chance to go anywhere else... :(

We've had quite a few celebs come into work. I havent had to deal with many of them personally, but i get the feedback from the staff.

Mark Waugh was here for a wedding. An animal rescue lady was here with a tiny baby wombat and he walked past and just had to play with it.

The Old Blueheelers guy (Tom Croydon ?) comes in all the time for coffee. Ive dealt with him a few times, complete turd! He acted like he was so much better than everyone else and even kicked a family with 2 kids out of our coffee shop so his friends could sit there. GRR!

Magna Szubanski (spelling?) came in for her parents wedding anniversary. Her parents are crazy. Especially her father, hes a complete looney. Nice people thow. The same cant be said for her. She was sooo rude to all of the staff.

Meh... most celebs are the same.

I met a few when I used to work at the airport.

David Johnston (channel 7 newsreader until not long ago) - Dead set arrogant c*nt. You make some small talk while dealing with people to be pleasant and this turd just looks through me like I'm not even there, on 2 seperate occasions!! Will be run over if I ever see him again.

Malcolm Fraser (ex PM) - Great bloke, really pleasant.

Brocky - met him on a few occasions, pretty good but was testy on an off day.

Gareth Evans (ex foreign minister) - Very nasty piece of work, just an absolute c*nt.

Jeff Fenech - Legend!! Really friendly and approachable. Great bloke.

Magda Szubanski - Rude and snappy. Just no call for that, I expected better!!

Tina Arena - Very nice, pleasant. Very "show biz" in the way she acts but pleasant all the same.

About 12 / 18 months ago had to go to Ch 9 in Brisbane and reduce some scratches in a Brand new MX5 for a cute blonde newsreader, got a little carried away cleaning it with a scourer (got the bugs off LOL)

Really good value and could see the funny side of her blonde moment.

Just about every Canberra Raider in the mid-late 90's + Stan Zemanek + Bruce Ruxton + Peter Cosgrove + Michael Klim + Joe Camileri + Channel 7 (sort of celeb's?) I think that's it, maybe a couple more.

edit - Oh, & a couple of well known strippers :

I havn't worked for celebs but I know celebs by association. When I was tiling my boss' daughter's godfather is the famous Auusie shooter Micheal Diamond?

I row with John Coates' son. John Coates the President of the Australian Olympic Comititee, member of the International Olympic Comititee. You go to there house it has wieghts and training equipment throught the house. He has 6 kids.

I played football with the son of the Australian Wallabies Physio, Greg Craig. At his work he alway had wallabies coming and going. All of them were happy to talk except Phil Kerns - he was an idol for me at the time and he is a ****er.

Meet Sir Edmund Hillary (first man to climb Mt Everest) and had dinner with him.

About '91/'92(while in the army) I was the driver for Kamahl to get him between a local(The Gap) carrols by candle light back into Brissy for the televised event. He tooled around talking to some bloke for a while before realising he was going to be late for the big one. He gave me orders to do what had to be done to get him into Brissy on time, so I put my brief on the line and nailed the verada all the way back into town. We got there and I find out we were nearly 40 minutes early for the event, Kamahl made a b-line for the bar and never even hinted at a thankyou.

In London I have served/ had in our showroom/or spoken to quite a few given what we sold but included the following:

Seal
Robbie Williams
Julian Macdonald
Various UK TV personalities
Brian May
Porchia De Rossi
Elle Macpherson
Ian Brown

In Sydney:

Fatty Vaughtin
Rosso
Script writer from home and away WOW!
Some others but I'm not too good at recognising most celebs.

Frankly, only had problems with one ****er in London, here, none.

In the late nineties I had a stretch limo and worked for quite a few famous people. 99% of them are absolute a$$holes and are not worthy of the time it takes to type their names, however, you do meet some wonderful people.

Barry Sheene, (RIP) you are an absolute legend.
Ron Walker, a true gentleman.

In December 2001 I was Jerry Springer's chauffer around Sydney. He was here to do some pilots with channel 9 for some tv shows that were to air in the UK. The one that I assisted in the rehearsal and watched the taping of was called "it's a love thing". That Georgina from treasure island woman was a contestant on it and she was all over Jerry at the end. They asked a question as to the weirdest places people have had sex; like an elevator stairs etc. Her answer was "Up the bum".
She wanted a lift to wherever Jerry was going and luckily the car was already full complete with the bodyguard in the front.
Twas 5 days of very little sleep, he gave me a $1500.00 tip.

Also met, Dr feelgood, Peter Brock (who couldn't be chauffered in a Ford so I told his manager and him to get ИИИИИed, catch a taxi....ohh wait, that too will be a Ford, and I walked off), Angry Anderson (Nice Bloke), Wendy Harmer (MegapogИИИИИ fugly mutt), Michael Pope (nice bloke), Rove (Supreme ruler of the f%$kwits, sufferer of f#ckface-itis), Bob Hawke (he was drunk as usual, but was hilarious when a chinese bloke impersonated his arrrrgggh thing), Catriona Rowntree and her red mini minor, Jim Waley, James Packer, Jodie Meares (Packer at the time and a b|tch), Peter Harvey.

Some are really up themselves (usually the ones who are nobody's anyway), whereas the serious mega celebrities are really cool. Springer was a top bloke who was really, really funny.
