Ok i'll list some performance cars and cars that i found had a unique characteristic about them and won't count the zillions of ordinary cars i've driven.

XR8's: Probably the most V8 powered model i've driven. First ever V8 i've driven was an EL2XR8 (owner still lurks here and has a double life of a super hero). Drove it on the high way for a few hours and really appreciated what the V8 feeling was. Since that time i've driven an AUII 200kw and a few AUII/III 220kw(both manual and auto).

GT-P: What a car, shod with brembo's and had the TR3650 manual i was in heaven. Very impressed with the instant pull at any gear and that was with 4 people on board. Don't care what anyone thinks but i'll take a GT-P any day over an equivelant priced BMW. It's definitly the ultimate Falcon for me (yes i'll take it over a Typhoon). The engine note is by far one of the best i've ever heard. Under 2000rpm it does sound compressorish but once it clears it throat it has a mixture of good ol v8 grunt and sophistication of a modern multivalve engine.

VT1 SS 3.8s/c: The sparing parter of my car. Very impressed with the overall package on the car, went damn hard for an auto and i do love the supercharger whine as the revs build under load. Just squats and goes delivering an impressive 0-100km/h. This would be my choice compared to a 5.0L 179kw or 195kw Commodore.

R33 GTS-T Type M: Very attractive looking car in black and riding on 18's. Mid range torque to 3500rpm felt less than a Falcon but once the revs piles on and the boost gets going, it sling shots and can be driven very hard. Don't mind the HICAS steering and the car feels like it steers from the rear around corners. Has a very meaty engine note despite standard exhaust.

Nissan DR30 Skyline: First true high performance skyline. FJ20 powered that made 142kw. The example i drove had a few km's under it's belt and thus was quite rattly but still for an 1984 model car it's quick. This is a typical ol school turbo car of nothing down low and biig rush as the revs hit 7000rpm with a loud woooooooooooooosh of the turbo spooling. Only down side of the car is that it was very tempremental.

AUIII XR6 VCT: Has a better gearbox that my XR6 HP, the engine note due to the twin system exhaust is very nice. Has a deep note yet remains quiet. On gear urge is it's high point and the engine is a shade more refined than the non-vcted 4.0L's. The IRS is a gem, can be driven fast without working hard. Perhaps the only downside is it's extra thirst for fuel and less poke after 3500rpm than the XR6 HP.

1983 VH SS Group 3 (Lookalike): Ok not the best looking car around and not a car that suites me, however this car deserves a credible mention as it goes quite well. The VH has an engine that was built by Gem engineering which was balanced and blueprinted, pace maker headers were added and 2.5inch exhaust. I had a little tussle with this car in my EF wagon and to 70km/h it managed to keep up before I pulled away.

I went for a drive in a mates s/c Calais and wasn't that impressed. Yeah it did dig in and go but it didn't feel that fast. Maybe the extra weight dulls the performance ??

He's since bought a underdrive kit whilst at the Nat's for the supercharger and we're hoping to square off against each other once he's done that and I've done the cam....

best memory was of the guy down the road that owned a registered 10 second one tonne ute, he a was an alcoholic and the only way for him to get more beer was to let me drive the monster to the pub... It was unforgetable, sheer brute power, 295 rear street tyres and it would step out at 100 km/h

another memorable drive was in a Shelby replica with a warm 302.. not neck snapping fast but ohhh the style..

Best handling goes to the M3 (75mm ride height) closely followed by the GTI-R, rough as hell but just has miles of grip.

Too many to remember.

The ones that stand out in my mind:
A few Mustangs
Several Corvettes
Audi TT
Posche 928 32V
Lotus Elise
Audi A8 (the actual car Tom Cruise used during the filming of MI2)
Honda S2000
FPV GT
Several XR8s

One I would like to forget; the BMW 316i (the model that looks like some one cut off the boot) would have to rate as the most gutless car I've ever driven.

I'm sure I'll think of some more.

It would be easier for me to list what I haven't driven ha ha. Some of the ones I have really enjoyed driving (I am not including the new Ford GT/GT40 as the drive I had in it was far too short and slow to make an observation, though i'm sure it's fantastic):

High 8 second Chev powered XD Ford Drag Ute... cool as fun
My old VK Calais 5.0lt, great size for me, and very comfortable. Had a bit of go when you wanted it too.
Loved my old modified LH Torana for the same things, power and size.
Venom AU show ute.. 'cause it's loud and looks awesome
BA XR6T manual.
BA GT, great car!
Terra show ute by Ford, not the best drive but cool and fun anyway.
The cutatway BA Fairmont Ghia at work, got to drive it in a parade. Heaps of fun listening to comments.
Territory Ghia, love them!

Better stop now. There are too many to choose from.

One of my most memorable drives was in a Daihatsu Terrios. Not beacuse the "vehicle" was good, but because it nearly killed me. Very very poor center of gravity.
