I have 2 really cool fake Tags I bought in Shanghai (herro herro copy watch), They are very hard to tell from the real thing, unless of course you actually need to tell the time accurately or don't want to have to reset the time every morning because the automatic mech is a bit dodgy....

I wear a Seiko normally, it cost me $800 about 12 years ago and is still VERY accurate.

P.S. anyone want a "Tag" Tiger woods or that other black golf one? really good, trooly rooly.......

In 2004 Rolex celebrated the Submariners 50th birthday, so they came out in 1954. 1918 was when Rolex was founded in Switzerland and they started producing the "waterproof" Oyster case then.

Yeh, well in the 80's most Rolex were bought from America!

The Americans made Rolex what it is now, OVERPRICED.

Example the Submariner is identicle to Omegas Seamaster Chromometre
RRP for Rolex $6,355, Omega $2,875 :

Back in the Early 80's the Rolex became popular and to make it seem more "exclusive" they halved production and doubled the price!

They are well over priced considering the prices Omega charge, and believe me as a Swiss watch retailer Omega and Rolex are in the same league. Omega was founded in 1860 and Rolex in 1918.

I deal and collect Rolex watches, do you know its reference number?

They first released the submariner to the public in 54.

No doubt about that, but still they hold their value better than Omega and most other brands.

Oh they hold their value very well, thats why second hand watch dealers mainly stock them. Omega are now in the process of "Rolexing" their watching. They are trying very hard to make them seem as exclusive as Rolex. But is still rate Omega highly. unfortunatley their are some models that are real lemons. But you get that these days with multi owned corporations.

FYI Swatch Group own Omega, Rado, Longines, Tissot, Swatch, C.k,
Flick-Flack, Breguet, Blancpain, Glashutte, Leon Hatot, Balmain, Hamilton and Certina and many more.

They also own Switzerlands biggest watch movement manufacture ETA who make quartz movements for other brands like TAG Heuer, Gucci, Dior, Wenger and about 200 other brands.

Its funny how Tag and Omega a fierce rival yet they share alot of movements. Take it from me Tag's after sales reliability on quartz watches are better that Swatch group watches.

I was looking through the latest Tag catalogue and the way it reads in there is that the two tone is the quartz and the other two are automatic. Perhaps I have interpreted it wrong – I am by no means a watch expert, I just know what I like.

No I don’t work for them but have had some first class customer service from them especially when my Oris needed repair.

Seeing as how we have some watch experts on here - What is your professional opinion on Oris and Breitling?

I have this one:

No complaints, but it's pretty BIG (which I knew before I bought it) and I have no faith in the altimeter. I love the 5 daily alarms.

Got in on ebay new for about $220. Cheap, I thought.

Personally I love my Oris - I have had it for about 3 or 4 years now and apart from a scratched face which was totally my fault it hasn't given me any problems at all. The watch you picked is very similar to mine and I think it retails around $800 - $1200, it was a gift so I don't know exactly how much.

^^^^ What is it?

Personally, I wasted $175 last week on mine. Fossil Black to red dial. Walked in to Melbourne central outlet and there it was. Different i guess, and I needed a watch badly.

As for the Tags on the original post, I reckon the first one looks better.

question for aimzes.... do you always have to get the consensus of a large group of people before purchasing personal items, or just for watches???

do you want our opinion on what colour jocks to wear as well?
