Some damn good articles here

BA : turns a few chickies heads but its not as fun as my other car...

...AU ex cab : Chapel street with siren from a Vicpol car, sister with her 3 friends on board and had some goons in an EB yell out "jump in this taxi"... Oh and my most interesting time... TWO girls jumping in and paying me $25 to take them a few kms down the road as they thought I was a real cab, one saturday night.

Yer, ive had that happen. People see/hear you driving up the road and you watch them as they snap you driving past. Really surprising really. Always a proud moment though. And when i first took the Xy to a few friends houses their parents come outside taking photos of it. Car has also been on the local news for a car show and in our local carclubs newsletter, nothing special really.

My first XR ute made it into the Outback Utes Annual back in 2001. The photographer wanted my girlfriend to stand beside it with her hand on the bonnet, the funny thing was she actually burnt her hand as it was a 40 degree day at Deniliquin. My second XR ute was a feature car in Performance Ford Magazine and Ute Action Magazine. It also made it into the PFM calendar, October 2003. My GT-P was featured in the New Oak Ford commercial while it was sitting in the showroom. New Oak even gave me a copy of the tape.

Cheers, Danny

My Fairlane was used in a TV pilot, driving up the country. But the pilot never sold to a network. :(

Mine's kinda like the first entry (bloke tow's Million dollar WRX behind humble $1200 special). Well it goes like this, a friend of mine has a massive boat, like 21 feet of shark cat and it's just all out huge. The trailer alone with it's dual axles and all the brake hydraulics weighs in at well over 750kg. His towing vehicle, his old mans very expensive landcruiser chosen especially for this task was seen to be the only thing on the plannet strong enough to handle the job. At the time my drive was a citrus acid yellow XF which had spun up 367,000 Km's or more and sported a heavy duty hayman reese towbar.

Anyway, i was invited along for a day out on the deep blue ocean in this gigantic vessle. On the way to the boat ramp I noticed that the trans in the curiser was beginning to make some $funny$ noises. I said nothing as to not alarm anyone and the journey carried on for another traffic light or so, and then it just @#^t itself. Whilst waiting for both towing vehicles i decided to give the girlfriend a call so she could come and pick us all up.

Shortly after that, one tow truck arrived, appearing unable to take both peices of mortgage at the same time. The towie said that he would take the cruiser first and come back for the boat, ok we said, in no time the cruiser was on the flat bed and off to be examined. Meanwhile not wanting to leave his new pried and joy at the side of the road my mate asked me if i had a HD tow bar on the eff. Then along came my XF's 15 minutes of fame, (and i'm still bathing in it) the stark yellow falcon rared it's rusted body at the intersection, pulling in and looking like it was up for the challenge. So on went the weight of the small P & O fairstar which had just managed to devour the illfaited landcruiser.

I can't say that it pulled it as though it wasn't there but hey, it took four big blokes, one lady and the boat, not only to the ramp but managed to make it all the way home without a problem. It's now one and a half years later and the falc is still going strong which is far more then what can be said for the cruiser which changed hands soon after the incident. Since then a different vehicle has been assigned to the job, that being a white AU II XR8 which can't get enough of it.

On Today Tonight I think it was, footage from a police car with an in car camera, filming my brother racing a VL commodore down the M1 at the goldcoast.

The cops pulled him over, and the VL also. The VL got let go after like 10 seconds yet they threatened to impound the EB :|. Ahh well, I have the car now and thats its 15 seconds of fame.

Flicking through Street Machine - Fords today at the Newsagency as I was drawn to "that" GT with the trumpets.....anyway looking through the magazine I come accross a 6 page article on cam upgrades for the Boss engine....I thought that cars look familiar.

Sure enough some nice pics of my car and a bit of a write up about it.....I knew nothing about this at all until today.
