Awesome turnout

Awesome Show - glad the weather was mighty fine.

Love ford people - so so laid back and friendly

I must be getting old but I agree there are no place for burnouts out these family events.

We had some knob in a silver ef falcon (P Plater of Course) do a u-turn in front of us on the way out of Deakin up the gutter back on the road then when turning left onto the main road stopped for a bit then did a burnout - the idiots outside thought he was a hero.

He would of gone very quickly from hero to zero very fast if any stones had flicked on to our car :

If only i had the digi camera on would of shown some interesting pictures to them.

GOOD on the cops for being there - wasnt like they were roadworthying every car that left the event or in fact any car there were just there to control traffic and the hoons. :1syellow1

Yep, I agree the police presence was good.
Thjey were allowing everyone to leave in a normal fashion, no matter how unroadworthy the car was.
Of course if you do the wrong thing then they MUST do their job.
After all their job is to protect, and they were there to protect innocent ppl, from hoons doing skids.

Great day out, some beautiful cars were about!

I thought the police control was almost perfect, they allowed people leaving to give the tyres a squeek and the engine a rev to please the crowd. Clearly though, they didn't allow burnouts or sideways action. I thought that was a good balance.

I hope the guy who lost it and almost went into the crowd got done for the works, what a ********!!!

I was actually disappointed that the cops took so long. Stupidity like that ends up getting the event closed down.

There is just something weird about a cop on a push bike, kind of like a fireman on a draught horse. Imagine him in your rear view mirror, PULL over, please Pull over. Looks like a fun day, damn that black el xr is very nice!!

I don't remember it at the show, but I'd say it was there.
We saw the aftermath.
Was on/near Settlement Rd.? (sorry, not from Geelong, so not familiar with road names).
Was a silver XF sedan with EF/EL XR6/8 16 inch wheels and had a 'X series owners club' sticker on the back window.

Must admit, I did say to MRSXR8 as we came up to the scene "God I hope that's not someone from the AFD today...". Poor bloke. I feel sorry for him.
It didn't look very healthy.

Didn't see much more, as we were just driving past.

I asked the cop for a dink to my car at one stage, but he thought the handle bars wouldn't of taken the extra weight though. :

Also love Ford people because there is significantly less bogans among us compared with the red circle boys.

Today was the first time for me at the Deakin University location. Went a few times in the late 1990s when the show was held at the Geelong showgrounds. Appears that this event is continuing to grow. How soon before they need to find a bigger venue? Took over 150 photos - so many great cars. A picture of my favourite car is attached. Just don't like the non factory wheels.

That's the main thing.
The car is always easier to fix than the people involved.
Hope to hear that he and his car are up and running again soon.

Congratulation's to Danny Full Noise on winning two awards,
Best XR 8 Falcon with his AU 11 Black ute & Best EB-BA GT with his silver GTP, but for some reason the BF category missed out.
Thanks Danny for letting me drive your GT to Geelong and back.
Cheers John
