TRUE DAT!!!
I have noticed just how much they are doing that actually. It isn't too bad when it is a remake. What really annoys me is when they have a really bad attempt at copying a current movie.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Some musicians make remakes/remixes sound really bad while others make them sound great.

With Rougue Traders i think they have done a great job with this one. I have their album and the rest of their music sounds very original and very different.
As far as i'm aware they have only the riff in the song and no words taken from 'My Shrona'.

Rouge traders suck. Dont forget years ago they mixed an INXS song, cant remember the name, stupid memory always failing me when I need it.

They suck full stop.

I really think that not many bands or groups are capable of creating brilliant music. Some of them come out with a decent sounding song but I get bored with it so easily, yet I can, and often do, listen to older music and songs constantly because the music is just awesome and you can really feel the passion and energy in the songs.

Give me the last two minutes of Dire Straits Tunnel of Love any day!

Probably going to cop a few for this....

In two years time, they will be unknown, and very few will remember them, just like all the other prefab pop boppers. Its like Bardot, Popstars, Scott Cain (Winner of Popstars) etc, they last a year, then they disappear!!!

Couldn't agree more. Won't even hear of them past this year.

I'm just hoping the same thing happens to Shannon Knoll.

Im not sure about the payment thing. If you listen to it, it is actually different to the My Sharona riff. Only slightly but it may be enough that they can get away with it.

Have a listen folks and youll hear that it is different. Not enough that the uneducated masses can tell which is a clever thing but those who know the song well and probly other musos would have heard its different.

And natalie whatserface hot? Sorry blokes but I just dont really find her that hot. Now if it was say Jessica Alba theyd be my favorite band.

You are welcome and it is not intended in a personal nature - simply part of my ongoing crusade to prevent the English Language from being mangled unnecessarily - someone has to do it or we will start down the slippery slope to the sort of English Language quagmire that the USA finds themselves in (not that they realise they are in such a quagmire of course)

Hmmm, i'll have to check it out next time it comes up on Cruize Radio, as I can't say I've heard it (we have the album, but I just haven't heard that track come up in general play).

Don't leave out James Blunt.
Scratchy voiced twat. Can't sing, can't dance and yet gets a record deal.
And don't get me started on the latest gangsta rap crap.
All that is is a bunch of idiots talking with a synthesisor doing a note here or there in the background.

Finally, Shannon Knob didn't he sing that song on channel 9's Comedy Inc show; "Twat like me"?

I will have to have a listen very carefully. Have not heard 'My Sharona' for a long time.

Music from Santana seems to stick in my head more.

I think we are forgeting two of the grestest songs ever created ripped their tunes from other songs (well one of them changed a note to get away with it).

Songs in question?

MC Hammer - Can't Touch This
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby

Ugh, I hate the song.

She can't sing so they use digital effects to try to cover it up.
