It was the Fords exhaust turbulence that did it! The vortex effect made the Ferrari lose its grip. Bloody happens all the time when a GT hits the sound barrier. It was a whole lotta SHAKIN going on. To bad about the Quakers in the Ferrari it gets to their heads V12 and all. The Ford never left the scene of the accident because HE was in front so what goes on behind ya is past tense.

Witnesses said the GT was racing neck and neck with the Ferrari. Must have had a bit of work done to pull that off.

its not hard to see what he's saying, when there is a incident reported in the media involving illegal street racing of any kind, more often than not it is reported as drag racing. Legal (ANDRA) drag racing has always had an image problem without being misrepresented in the media, so when you tell some one or a sponsor you are a dragracer the last thing you want them to think is that you are involved in illegal street racing, get it?
So then....... Street Racing Is Not Drag Racing!

pehaps the pollies could do something here to make off street club racing /drag racing more enticing to car enthusiast, getting more people involved in car clubs promoting track events, giving car clubs a tax break or some incentive to have more affordable days at the track might be a good start.

But it's all hiersay
If the Falcon was going that hard that it couldnt stop youd say it would either go off the road itself or hit the Ferrai that hard that both would have been wriiten off. With how fast the Ferrari ran off the road it would be hard to imagine that any contact would not have been a write off for the Falcon aswell. Who knows I guess?

i dont know if anyone has thought of it yet but there are alot of people with stripes on their non-GT's, perhaps it was a silver Turbo Territory with orange stripes that ate the ferrari and spat out the bits it didnt like???

I could see public liability insurance being a problem here, as a lot of so called safe activities have closed due to high insurance premiums.
So I dont see a lot of hope for inexpensive motorsport activaties.

Have seen alot of these events and at the events police go there to get an easy quoter even on drivers who are driving sensibly. I have seen them put the transit car off the road just because they can even though the owner of the hot car is doing the sensible thing and bringing it on a trailer. Not good encouragement if they are serious about saving lives!!

Red paint on the GT and he'll get to meet the rest of his family in jail instead of just visiting them on weekends.

The 42 year old man went to the Moe police station and said he owned a car similar to the silver GT Ford Falcon investigators were hunting for over the crash.

perhaps it wasnt a Silver GT Falcon that was in the race at all, maybe its an XR6T with stripes or somehting, hence why the comment makes sense.

all we were shown was a brochure photo of a GT, coulda been anything SIMILAR to that that was actuallly involved.

as for all these people bitching and going on and on and on about drag racing, blah blah blah, get over it.
we all know its bad, we've all broken road laws we don't need 90% of the posts going on about how bad drag racing is and how much of a Hoon Rollin must be for choosing his words.

I have just read this entire thread and thought to myself "these blokes are just making crap up to make themselves seem as though they know the facts, or they know how the law works".

If the GT wasn't there, would the ferrari have come off the road? NO! Therefore culpabale driving (manslaughter with a car) would be an appropriate charge.

How about you keep your stupid comments like this to yourself, as there are people on this forum that actually knew the people involved?

Can I remind some of you morons that people have died here.

Why don’t some of you grow up?

i am sorry. i guess that a little light heartedness was not welcome, with everyone adding in their own little ideas of the situation.

i do however believe that it is not appropriate that people be called stupid and morons

I agree. I've tried to refrain from posting anything, but seriously, some of you need to grow up. Take a look at yourselves. It's pathetic.

Let's all have a joke about Ferrari drivers (or anyone with money) having no clue how to "drive." For f#@k's sake. No matter how skilled you are, driving at crazy speeds on public roads is a recipe for disaster.

You are right. You’re light hearted comments are not welcome, nor are any one else’s for that matter.

If any of you have a favourite God, Please talk to him/her about these two and beg him/her to look after their families. Faark that's just sad.

Two cars going for it on the street is no more "drag racing" than two blokes bashing each other outside the pub on a Friday night is a "boxing match", but I guess I'm just being picky.

Then again, if it wasn't an overpriced ****mobile that crashed, no-one would have given much of a toss. I guess money doesn't buy brains.

Thats not bad for a factory car. Good for those who want track time. I thought it may have been limited to 180kph.

There are so many different topics inside one thread been started, and some fairly stupid comments about the passing of someones life.
Regardless of who or what happened these people have family and friends of which some are here at AFF.
this one is now closed.
