There's a guy in the E-series section (vegabass) who's done a working shaker CAI. Might be worth sending him a PM - shared knowledge is worth a thousand mistakes.

lol , doubt it would shake a Martini , But still looks Awesome !

Angryboy , CAI is a Vast world of Try , Test , Try Some More , Test.

Just because you Change 1 Pipe doesnt mean everyone changes their pipes and Gains 60kms .... Its Like JC Said , If your IN the AU to Drive , Then Drive it , if your IN the AU but dont like the Economy , Either Save $2000 and get in a 7month Gas Queue or Start thinking about one of those Fully Sick Excels Bro !

Personally , From a Guy with only a Little bit of CAI knowledge , the go is just to have the Tickford intake , Add a K&N Filter and Your Laughing like a fat chook !

JC , How Much was the BA XR8 Pod Box ?

Daniel

I got 2 for $200, including a BMC hi flow filter and an XR6T snorkel! Bargain.

I6corp got his for $50.

You've just got to try the wreckers, and the for sale threads for those blokes that get the G&D intake on their BA.

did everyone know that an au airbox flows 18% less air than an ef airbox?? the au inlet is 50mm comnig out at the pipe and the ef is 80mm at the pipe. im talking about the top half of the box. I seen it on Jmm"s site. Ive changed mine to 80mm and put a 3inch pipe to the rubber elbow flows heaps better, revs heaps better. i'll post up pics tommorow.

JC, how did you hook up the extra air intake line on your V8 for the gas.? i mean you have to have the air line from the convertor to the air box. so the BA box being round where did it go? also i thought on the V8's you had to keep that round offshoot in the box to throttle body. hope i explained that well enough!!!!!!!

The balance pipe is attached at the main opening of the BA Pod (see p[ic attached - lower/middle left of pic is balance pipe).

The "squiggly" pipe is used to reduce induction noise. So is not required if you don't care about the noise level.

Yep, just remove the squiggly bit, and use a 50/55mm (can't remember) PVC pipe cap and a hose clamp to block the hole.

MAF is the original ford, just sprayed with black wrinkle finish paint.

I've only ever had 2 backfires with the BA Pod, and no damage each time - I think this is because the backfire basically travels in a straightish line down the pipe, back into the pod and out where the air comes in. Either that, or the 3" metal piping just makes it go that way!

when you had the oil breather line before the MAF did it cause any drama? i would have thought you would get a bit of oil sucked through it. i want to move mine as it sticks out right behind the mixer and they have just siliconed it in and it looks ****
