Well the Sydney Olympics is the reason there is no money for schools, hospitals and police in NSW. All that money waste for two weeks of crap I couldn't get far enough away from.

You seem like a very bitter person. Greer has done nothing than promote herself. She's a serial pest who continually gouges the Australian nation to ingratiate herself with a small embittered pocket of English followers. The money that the Irwins garner is spent on environmental, flora and fauna protection and preservation.

What have you done lately to get your portrait in an art gallery or museum?

I have a degree in environmental science, what did Irwin have? I suspect his wife was more qualified. They may have done some good but they looked after themselves too. Yes, I am a very bitter person. No doubt this forum will breathe a sigh of relief when I am finally locked up.

I could say I have multiple degrees too, but I'm not foolish enough to think a few years rote learning a few related subjects makes me any more knowledgable or qualified than someone else, especially someone who immerses him/herself in the activity. Tertiary courses are usually just a way of disseminating codified information that others with a natural ability have already discovered or developed.

Would you have the Irwins living in abject poverty to prove their earnest? Will you forgo your comforts, work seven days a week, 16 hours a day to get the work done and the message out, or does a degree preclude you from that...... three or four years of schooling in a classroom and a few field trips is enough?

She's entitled to her opinion, it's a fair and reasonable right in Australia.

Thankfully, this also entitles her to the responsibility of dealing with the reaction. We all make our own beds.

As for wether Irwin hurt the animals he interacted with, i dont know... im not a vet, nor a scientist.

When I was on my MSN space, I saw an interesting page...

The Young Old Fart Whingebag

The writer (I assume it's a male) doesn't write too often and is a bit rude and brash, but their first article about Germaine Greer made me take notice.

Have a look for yourselves.

As for me, Greer isn't an Australian anymore. Why should she care...we don't care about her.

I say live and let live. What purpose does this sort of public criticism serve ?

As for insulting a 9 year old kid. WTF ? Who cares what she and her mother do, is it affecting our lives ? I think not.

There are lot more important issues to worry about ,and karma will put Germaine in her place (look at her face, maybe it has).

yipee...good for you, you've done homework at uni

How much practise and field work have you done? Knowledge in the environmental area is gained more so in real experience than looking up a textbook. I'm not just sticking up for Irwin for the sake of it but he had a lifetime of experience more so than you ever could

It does not matter if you have a bit of paper with a degree on it. Irwin has done more for the environment then you or I will ever do (actions speak louder then words). You seem to have a problem with people making money off their fame but don't take into account that Steve Irwin sunk most of it into buying land to conserve the environment.

hey xcgxl your a crack up mate becuase there is NO WAY that you can be serious about supporting that slag.
how great she is when she can bag australia and everything about it then say "i'm never going back there" but when someone gives her enough money shes back in a flash.
also she never had the balls (or maybe she does! :evil3: ) to say anything when he was alive but now she blurts it all out when he cant defend himself.
oh germane your so tuf.

look i never liked irwin either and i dont like the commerciall stuff that goes on now about him but bashing a dead person is just low.

and xcgxl if you are serious about it then do us all a favour and pull your bottom jaw over your head and swallow. :togo:
and show germane how to do it to while your at it.

looks like my mate XCGXL is spreading his cheer far and wide!!

youre entitled to your opinion, but u have to agree that saying **** like what greer is saying now, and has before, when irwin cant reply is just ridiculous.

i thought steve was a bit 'over the top' for my liking, what with all the jumping around and the 'crikey' every 2.5 seconds, but u have to admire the guy for what he achieved, his passion, and the way he put another part of australia in the view of the world.

greer is just a jealous old lemon that cant face the fact that her time has been and gone and nobody told her.
the poms can have her!!

Poor Steve. Let him rest. Let his family move on. Why is this lesbo so famous anyway? What has she done? I am too young to even know who she is. Steve on the other hand was a great guy and really loved nature. I would love to see anyone here try and pull out a 600kg croc from a dangerous location and re locate it to another enclosure. I once saw an episode where Steve had to lift out a giant croc from a concrete enclosure. His brute strength and determination was incrediable. All you Steve bashers are cowards and jelouse of a man who was famous for what he did.
