Going I know debt sucks and all the rest, but FFS, you only live once eh?

I went to QLD a year or two ago with two good mates and had an awesome time. And I know I will have an even better time on the cruise. Just getting wasted every night? Pfft! It'll be day and night! But I am not going to totally erase my memory of the trip. But seriously, it's going to be awesome. Once in a lifetime? Yep. It is. Sure I can go on a cruise when I am older but not at THIS age, and not with these mates.

Dunno about you guys who voted no, but I LOVE travelling.

Thanks for helping me decide!!!

wheres this ship actually going?

btw i would have chosen the same thing. I wish i did something like that with mates before we went our own ways, a circle of my frinds have been saying for the last 2 years they should come over to aus together but it's never going to happen. theres no way they can all get the time off when they want it.

have fun chief

The problem being that you blow alot of money and then come home in debt driving a car that needed the bucks... To me it would be one of those 'kick myself' everytime I drove the car.

If you want to travel sure, travel properly. If you want to sit in a bar for 10 days just go to the Casino everynight for a fortnight, stumble home and fall asleep in the sun.

You saved the money for a reason, kudos to you, you set a goal and acheived it, I wouldn't change my plans due to peer pressure.
My thoughts exactly, a cruise is just an expensive ****-up.

I'll be the one laughing when you're freezing your balls off at 3am in a life boat off some Pacific Island inhabited by head hunters!

Still want the power windows lol

Go on the cruise mate. I went on one with three other mates in early december last year it was awsome.

It was the 7-day one though, spent heaps of cash on **** but that what holidays are for, plenty of ladies aboard aswell

I think we've planned to go on another one this year, might be the 12-day one or something..

For what it's worth I think you made the right choice, you never forget holidays and the things you did.
In a couple of years time you'll have forgotten about the conversion, bills, etc.

Ahhh well it's time! P&O stuffed us around a bit, and instead of getting a flight up to Sydney and getting on the cruiser there for 10 nights, they gave us two options:
-full refund, no questions asked; or
-free flight to New Zealand, and board the ship there for seven nights, then they will reimburse us "3/10ths" of our money (about $400-500) and give us $300 credit on board.

So we chose the latter, and we are flying over to New Zealand in.... Eight hours or so! We are staying there three nights and then getting on the ship from Auckland for seven nights and return to Sydney on the 14th.

I'm going to miss my AFF daily fix *sob* But rest-assured, I'll be back on here soon after I get back in 11 nights LOL!

Freezing in NZ, and then hopefully 26 degrees days with blue skies above! See ya around :P

BTW, thanks for helping me decide again

excellent choice that he took the cruise. The fact that he was saving up for hte manual and then this opportunity just happens to come along was a sign in my eyes. Everyone is always going to have debt, but its living for right now and the things that you do with your mates that gives you the best memories, you hold memories forever, debt gets paid off, eventually lol.

Best thing I ever did! No regrets ever.. Best fun ever with three awesome mates.... Ahhh so many memories, so many fun times.

I've been back for a little over a week and I feel like a different person. I haven't even been on here 24/7 like I used to, I don't know what's happened to me!! I just can't wait to see the rest of the world.

Anyway, I might put up some pics some day..

I worked for P&O cruiseliners... out of the UK though, it's even more fun working on them.
Carribean this week, west african coast the next... followed by the med, oh, and don't forget that round world cruise after that.. you know the one we're paying you to work on????

loved it.
