Supercar smash on Japanese highway
By North Asia correspondent Mark Willacy

Updated December 05, 2011 07:45:14

There has been a pile-up with a difference on a highway in Japan - involving a small fleet of expensive supercars.

Japanese police say eight Ferraris, two Mercedes Benz and a Lamborghini crashed into each other when the lead car hit a central barrier as they drove through the country's west.

TV footage showed wreckage spread across the highway in Yamaguchi prefecture, as well as a trail of crumpled red sports cars.

Ten men and a woman who were in the cars were taken to hospital with bruises and slight injuries.

Some of the damaged Ferraris are believed to be worth several hundred thousand dollars.

HAHAHA thats my mates car. It looked alright when he bought it but hes not looked after it. It was defected 2 years ago for being too low, he put stock commo springs in and never adjusted it since. Its in horrible condition, but besides the wheels, it did look good when he bought it. Proper steel bulge too.

Found more on the GT40 on Jalopnik. The photo above was first posted by Jesse on his Twitter account with "F%$kin Whoops" as the comment

First comment under the article on Jalop is apparently James son

Quote:
Hey you guys are dipshits. My father was in the car with one of his friends and he just lost control(1000hp). Also its a hennessey gt1000 twin turbo. It was not today and it was last week and no one in the family did this it was just some asswipe "neighbor". Another thing no where near our house.
Badluck!

Its Jesse James' car! Neighbour Offed it into a neighbours property.

With 1000hp and painted on tyres I can imagine it being a bit of a handful to drive.

Have seen it twice in the last week and today was finally able to get some pictures of this thing. I think the concept is a win but the execution is a complete and utter fail.

NC LTD Grille, EF Mirrors, a Bundaberg bar mat as a dash mat, bonnet scoop, enormous aerial, the bull bar, the bumper stickers...

... Note the mismatched tail lights, the end of the XF light looked light it had been sawed or melted at the end to make it fit. The badges were glued on with silicone, there was silicone trails poking out from underneath them.

Can't begin to describe how bad the paint job was on the car. The crappy phone camera didn't pick it up but it was clearly done with about a dozen cans of touch up paint, there were big sections along the drivers side that had brush strokes.

The most ironic thing I found with the car was the tiny, ineffective mudflaps amongst all the other country bumpkin mods.
